The rest of the school day flew by and, much to my disappointment, there were no more encounters with Dominic Howard. I met Kelly in our usual spot outside the school gates and as soon as she saw me, her hands were on her hips and her eyes narrowed. I could tell by the look she was giving me that she had found out the details.

"You gave him another chance?!" She shrieked as a group of students flooded out around us. "Are you out of your mind?"

I placed a hand on her back and made a shushing sound as I began to lead her to the side so we were no longer in anyones way.  "Keep your voice down! And I said he has one more chance."

Kelly rolled her eyes at me, raising her arms in exasperation. "That's what they all say! He'll make the same mistake again and you'll say 'How could you do this to me? Blah, blah, blah. Oh I can't stay mad at you!" I tried to cover the amused smile that made its way onto my face as she did a horrible impression of me but unfortunately she noticed. "I'm serious!"

"I know and I'm sorry!" I apologised, running a hand through my hair. "But he got on his knees, Kelly.  I couldn't-"

"Wait, wait, wait. Hold up a second..." She raised her hands up, stopping me from saying anything else. "Dominic Howard got on his knees for you?" I nodded as she looked at me in confusion. That part of the story had obviously been skipped over when she was told.

"He clasped his hands in front of him, saying please and everything!"

Kelly's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "He actually begged?"

I nodded at her once again and there was a moments silence. "So... I'm guessing this changes something."

"This changes everything!" She squealed, clapping her hands excitedly. "Dominic Howard begged you! He begged!"

I rolled my eyes and let out a laugh. "I know! Why are you so excited?"

"I give you my blessing!" She told me with a grin. "Go out with him, get married and have beautiful little babies together!"

I raised an eyebrow, an amused smile on my face. "You're getting a bit ahead of yourself, aren't you?"

"No, I'm not!" Kelly protested. "Do you even understand the magnitude of this situation?" I shook my head at her and she let out a sigh of frustration before continuing. "You are slowly going to turn Dom into-"

"Into what?" We both jumped and it was then we realised the man himself was standing beside us with a sly smirk. "What am I being turned into?"

"She was just about to tell me." Crossing my arms against my chest, I gave Kelly an expectant look. "Weren't you?"

She smiled sheepishly at the two of us and looked down at her wrist. "Oh, would you look at the time! I have to get going!"

"What are you even looking at?" Dom asked, raising his eyebrows. "You're not wearing a watch!"

"That doesn't matter." She stated, waving him off. "The point is, I'm going now!" And with that she jogged off, leaving Dominic and I standing there with the same confused expression on our faces.

My eyebrows furrowed as I watched her retreating figure. "What just happened?"

"I have no idea." Dom answered. He shook his head, snapping himself out of the weirdness of the situation and turned to me. "Are you getting picked up?"

"No, I have to walk. My mum's on the late shift tonight." As I pouted I couldn't help but notice Dom's gaze was drawn to my lips for a moment.

He gave me a smile as his hand reached up to rub the back of his head. "I could give you a lift if you like?"
