I let out a small snort as Alex was telling me how he had gotten the poor new waiters number. While we sat at the counter of the diner waiting for our tables to finish their food.
After we had stumbled into our apartment last night, Alex had gone in sort of a frozen trance. It had taken me half the night, for me to snap him out of it and when he did it was only because I had taken a bottle of cologne and sprayed it in his eyes.
Making a colorful choice of words leave his mouth and him making me swear never to do that again. After he had spent a our under the shower washing the cologne out of his eyes.
That still doesn't change the fact I only got four ours of sleep and had to get up to go to work bright and early in the morning. But it was good to see Alex in good spirits again.
"Hey I was thinking. What if we moved to a different apartment."
A frown formed on my face and my eyebrows scrunched together at the realization of him changing the subject .
"Why?" I asked already knowing some of the reasons, if not all.
Alex just gave me a look that said 'you know why'
I ran my fingers through my short auburn hair and sighed.
"What do you have in mind?" I asked. My male voice coming out tired and stressed.
Alex cleared his throat and scratched behind his head before saying.
"Well yesterday when you took the trash out while we were working, a modeling agent came up to me and -"
I stopped him right there.
"No."
"Kent just listen for a second." Alex said using my male name since we were in public and I was in male form.
"Absolutely not. I'm trying to stay under cover not out in the open." I growled lowly so no one close to us could hear.
"That's why I think it would be good for us." Alex said leaning in closer and lowering his voice to a whisper.
My hazel eyes narrowed.
"How?" I snapped lowly.
Alex flinched but quickly regained his composure.
"They wouldn't expect you to be so out in the open and they won't be able to get to you even if they found out. To many people would know about you." Alex said a small smirk on his face knowing he won.
I let out a quite growl knowing he had valid points. But just because I would be out in the open wouldn't mean they
couldn't get to me."You're really worried about Mr. Rocoil aren't you." I stated.
If it weren't for my abilities I would've never caught the flash of fear in Alex's eyes that came and went in a millisecond. Mr Rocoil has always bothered Alex but I'm guessing last night was the last straw for Alex. Not that I blamed him.
Noticing my table was signaling for the check I stood up from leaning on the counter and grabbed their reseat.
"I'll think about it." I muttered and started towards the table, feeling Alex's smile from where I was, I yelled.
"But I need details!"
Alex was still smiling widely behind my back.

I sat in my room having just taken a shower after coming home from work and shifted into my female form. Alex had quickly made me sit on my bed and had blasted into the story of the modeling agent as soon as I had walked out of the bathroom dressed in sweats and a t-shirt.
I twirled a small white business card with silver letters in my hands as Alex finished talking to me about the modeling agency.
Apparently the modeling agent, Stan, had coworkers that had stopped at the dinner for lunch and had seen Alex and me on one of our shifts and had taken a liking to us quickly and had told Stan how we would make wonderful models.
So Stan had went to investigate yesterday and had seen Alex and me as I was heading out the door to takeout the trash and saw that his coworkers were right and wants us to work at his agency as models.
"Stan said that the job would come with a high class apartment near the beach, all expenses paid for if we do it." Alex said eagerly his eyes wide and bright at the thought of all the luxuries that came with the job.
I stared down at the card that read 'Star shine modeling' with Stan's name and number.
Closing my eyes and leaning against the wall I came to a decision.
"Fine."
Alex whooped but stopped when I held up my index finger at him.
"But if we get in trouble I'm blaming it on you."
"Deal." Alex smiled mischievously, quickly snatching the card from my hands and ran to the kitchen to call Stan.

My eyes snapped open and quickly scanned the room. My heart pounding furiously on my chest and my breathing labored.
Once I took in the familiar cream walls and brown carpet , desk and a small bookshelf along with the doors that lead out of the room, the closet and to me and Alex's shared bathroom. I settled back in my bed wiping the sweat that trickled down my forehead as I silently whispered "It was just a dream."
I had a nightmare about them again as I did most nights, especially after a stressful day or if I had seen someone who looked similar to any one of them.
After a couple of tries of trying to fall asleep. I finally climbed out of bed. As soon as my feet touched the brown carpet I felt the anticipation in the air, as if something were going to happen.
Shaking the thought from my head I went into the hallway and made my way to the kitchen to get some water to calm my nerves and to cure my parched throat.
I only made it to the living room when I froze. My enhanced hearing picking up sounds from next door.
"You peace of shi-" A familiar voice yelled.
"Watch the windows for cops-" Someone growled causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand up.
The sound of flesh beating flesh filled my ears and then the sound of things hitting the grounds and smashing.
Fear filled my body as I quickly ran to Alex's room opening the door and yanking his covers of him.
"What-"
Before Alex could question me I put my small hand on his mouth and hissed.
"I think someone's robbing our neighbors."
Alex's eyes widened drastically before he sat up removing my hand in the process.
"Witch ones?" He asked in a worried tone, his face pale with fear.
I made a sign to be quite before whispering.
"Mr. Rocoil's"
