It had been a couple weeks and everything was going perfect...too perfect. I was sitting in my house one day since Mary was sick and I wasn't going to be tutoring her when there was a knock on my door. I walked to the door and opened it up to see a man standing there in a suit.

"Can I help you?" I asked confused.

"Ms. Collins?" He asked.

"Yes." I said and he handed me a big envelope and walked away. I walked inside and sat on my couch opening it up. I started reading the paperwork and groaned. I kept a hold of it and grabbed my keys leaving. I drove to Franks and saw him standing at the mailboxes talking to Roberta and he was holding a big envelope as well. They both saw me pull in and I walked up to them.

"Hey, I thought we said you weren't coming over today?" Frank questioned.

"Yeah that as the plan until I got these." I said and shoved the papers at him.

"She is coming after you too?" Frank asked looking at the papers.

"No, not exactly." I said as he read the papers.

"Wait, a hold on Mary's tutoring and you are being called to testify on her behalf?!" Frank asked in shock and I nodded.

"Yeah... exactly. What the hell is going on Frank? What court case?!" I asked and he sighed showing me his papers that showed Evelyn going for custody of Mary.

"You have got to be kidding me?! What is going on?" I asked.

"Because of her trip to Boston. You know the one you took her on where you let her to that math problem and let people watch." Frank said and I ground.

"HEY! That's not fair! I wasn't her family or guardian, I didn't have a say of what was happening." I said and Frank just shook his head taking his papers back.

"You still got there and saw what they were wanting and let her do the problem." Frank said.

"What was I supposed to do?! I let her do it thinking Evelyn was just proving a point to the asshole Shankland. I didn't know it would come to this, I had no clue. She never said anything. The only thing she said to me when Mary and I were about to fly back was just to keep up with her work and she was proud of Mary. Frank, I had no clue." I said and he groaned.

"No, this is all on you. You needed to stop trying to convince us all that you didn't do this. When she was shown the problem you should have left with her, not encourage her." Frank said.

"I didn't encourage Frank!" I yelled annoyed.

"You think she didn't tell me about you telling her to be a badass to do the problem?" Frank asked and I sighed.

"Yeah I did but I didn't think it would come to this!" I said holding up my papers.

"Hey, both of you need to calm down." Roberta said and I sighed.

"I just need you to leave. Mary isn't feeling well and my papers say we cant have contact with you." Frank said and I looked at him.

"Frank! She knows we are together, don't you see what she is doing?!" I asked and he sighed.

"Just go Melina." He said and walked away.

"Frank!" I called after him and he just kept walking. I had tears in my eyes and I watched him walk away. I felt Robert walk up beside me and grab my hand.

"Give him sometimes Mel, he is hurting." Roberta said and I looked at her and she saw the tears.

"And I'm not? I love that little girl and I really like Frank but he thinks I did this just to hurt him when I didn't know it would happen." I said and Roberta sighed.

"Give him sometime to come around Mel..." Roberta said and I shook my head.

"I've waited long enough for him." I turned to look at Robert and I hugged her.

"It was nice meeting you and getting to know you." I said as we hugged. Once we released headed to my car.

"MEL!!" I heard a little voice yelling running to me and I sighed knowing I needed to just leave but I couldn't leave Mary. I crouched down to her level when she got me and she wrapped her arms around my neck and I could tell she had been crying.

"Please don't go Mel." Mary asked as she held on to me and it made my tears fall.

"I don't have a choice Mary, I have to go and I can't come back right now." I said.

"Why?! I want you here, I want you with Frank." Mary said and I sighed as I pulled out of our hug and I wiped her tears way.

"Hey, you have Frank and Fred here with Roberta, you don't need me." I said and she shook her head.

"I do need you, Frank does too." Mary said and I looked at the door of the apartment and Frank stood there with his head down.

"Mary, I love you okay and I will miss you but this is what the court is telling me, I don't want to leave you. Maybe once this all get worked out I can come back okay?" I said and she cried harder.

"Hey, give me another hug, then get inside you are sick." I said and she hugged me tighter again and I kissed her cheek.

"I love you so much Mary." I said.

"I love you too Mel." She said and let me go. Roberta walked over to stand with her as I got in my car and drove away as tears fell down my face.
