"Dad no, I won't go!" I yelled as Sebastien tried to drag the sheet off me.
My attitude was back since I got home yesterday needless to say but I wasn't going to school today I just didn't want to.
"Aria Summers get off the bed now..you're gonna make me late for the board meeting this morning and I need to drop you off to school!"So you might be wondering why Sebastien wanted to drive me to school....because of my arm injury he was afraid I'd pressure it so I'm temporarily suspended from riding Jessie to school.
"Dad I don't want to go to school today I hate pity and I'm sure by now everyone heard about the almost killing of a millionaire's adopted daughter once again putting me in the spotlight. I know that once the daily news announces it then they'll recall what happened to my parents 3 years ago and I just can't relive that. The pitiful stares I was given and kind words that left a bitter taste in my mouth. I just can't". I sighed.
They think their helping me but they just made me feel worse..constantly reminding me about what happened instead of finding ways to distract me.
"So no school then?" Sebastien questioned.
"Precisely" I proudly answered and watched as he walked out my bedroom door.
I pulled the sheet over my head, ready to have the best time sleeping. Not to mention last night I got no sleep because the investigators left late and my insomnia kicked in.I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew Sebastien dragged off the sheet and blew a whistle in my face.
"Off to school Miss Summers!" He shouted..
The freak!!
Where did he even get a flipping whistle!!I groaned and threw a mini tantrum in my bed then got up.
.......................................
"Love you too" I fake smiled at Sebastien then slammed the car door shut..one day he will kill me for that.
As I walked into the school hallway and towards my locker, I could feel everyone's eyes staring at me, but, I held my composure and remained confident. This wasn't the first time I got a bunch of stares anyway.
Soon after, the bell rang and everyone scrambled to class, giving me side glances, pitiful stares and whispers. I rolled my eyes, just great more 'attention'.I was closing my locker door when one of my text books fell on my left arm.
"Shit!" I shouted at the top of my voice as I winced from the pain and took fast and heavy breaths trying to calm down. I bent slowly and picked up the book carefully placing it back in my locker, quickly slamming the door shut- just incase any other book wanted to play who could hurt Aria's arm the most.
As I turned on my heel to get to class-even though I was about 5 minutes late- I paused seeing Krabs. There it went again my mouth slipped
"Shit"
I sighed again without even realizing I said it.
This just isn't my day."Miss Summers, come with me to my office NOW" Krabs said giving me a smug look, raising his finger signaling for me to follow.
We went into his office and he signaled for me to sit. I sat down -kind of hopeful I would get in trouble and he would call Sebastien to come get me- what he said next though was more shocking than I realized."I've heard about what you've been through 2 days ago and I'm sorry to hear that..on behalf of the school we extend our condolences and empathize with you at this time. I must say though, I love the attention the school has been getting so I took the initiative to invite the daily news to speak to you in person tomorrow and just ask you a few questions.. it shouldn't be hard but remember to always involve the fact that the school has been empathic towards you and extended condolences as well as given you an one day break to fully recover..ensure that you mention the fact that we are the best school with top performing students and the most capable teachers." Krabs smiled warmly at me.
This man was something else..I swear he is special!
"So basically that attention the daily news has given me you want to use it to your advantage to advertise and get more students to the school.. you just want more money in your pocket."
I think I summed up everything perfectly and rolled my eyes. One day my eye balls will fall out.
I guess they don't call him Krabs for nothing..he really is greedy.
"Don't think of it as that ms.Summers think of it as helping out your fellow classmates whom you love so much."Love? Who said I loved them?
This guy clearly wasn't getting the picture.
I didn't even have any friends."I don't want anything to do with this school I just come here for an education, any type of special treatment you have to offer you can keep it cause as soon as I graduate next year I'll never come back, now sir if you'll excuse me I've got to get to class".
I faked the brightest smile ever and opened his door, walked out and slammed it shut."I've got to stop slamming doors it'll get me killed one day!" I mentally said to myself.
