It was a cold mid-autumn night in Seoul. Jihoon was now running around in circles throughout the apartment. He was getting himself prepared because he was going out tonight. He had put on some nice warm clothes.
"So remember Yoshi?" Hyunsuk came back holding some shopping bags.
"Uhhh...um..." Jihoon was too distracted looking for which shoes to wear.
"Yoshinori? Japanese, red hair, a student at the same school we go to as well?" Hyunsuk enumerated for him.
"No, absolutely no clue." Jihoon finally found his shoes.
He placed them by the door to put them on once he was ready to leave. Jihoon first got the coat he was going to wear. It was going to be cold this night.
"Okay, well, he remembers you. He's having a party tonight, and we're going. I'm wearing these." Hyunsuk pulled out some new shoes he bought from a paper bag.
Jihoon approached him and sat in the chair next to him. He looked at the shoes and couldn't think of anything to say. He wasn't really much of a fashionista himself. And he was actually on his way to go somewhere else, so he was thinking of how to tell Hyunsuk that he wouldn't be coming to the party.
"What? They're bad?" Hyunsuk asked, looking offended.
"No, Hyung, they're perfect. It's just that I already made plans to have dinner with Junkyu tonight." Jihoon explained.
"Seriously? You'd rather have dinner with this strange cat person than go party with your friends?" Hyunsuk groaned.
"Hyunsuk hyung, that's mean and which friends? The only friends I have right now are—" Jihoon was cut off.
"I know, I know. Just me, Junghwan, Yedam, and Doyoung." Hyunsuk put out. "That's why you should go to this party. You've always been a social person. Besides, wink, wink, Yoshi might like you." Hyunsuk teased.
Jihoon shook his head, indicating that he was uninterested.
"I'm really sorry, but I've had this plan since last week. I can't just cancel it right now." Jihoon reasoned.
"Come on. Please? I'll call him." Hyunsuk pleaded. "Do you want me to call him?" By 'him' he was referring to Junkyu.
"Hyung, I can't go." Jihoon firmly stated. "I have to be there in, like, 30 minutes, so no." he said and started putting on his coat.
He fixed his hair and brushed off any dust there was on his clothes. Hyunsuk said nothing more. He just sighed, frustrated, leaning onto the couch.
"What?" Jihoon asked, seeing his expression.
"I wasn't gonna say anything, but this is just... it's getting weird." Hyunsuk raised his tone at the end. Trying to make Jihoon open his eyes and see. "You've like totally adopted this guy to be what? A replacement?"
"He's my friend." Jihoon said.
"You hardly know him." Hyunsuk replied back.
It was quiet for a while, Jihoon didn't want to say anything more.
"Okay, I'm gonna call him. That's it." Hyunsuk declared, reaching out to take Jihoon's phone that was on the coffee table. "And we're putting him on a serious taper, starting tomorrow." he started to unlock Jihoon's phone.
Jihoon quickly reacted by reaching for it back. Taking it off Hyunsuk's hands.
"No, Hyunsuk! What the hell?" He stood up, glaring at the older.
Jihoon then walked away, ready to leave.
"Why do you always think that you can just tell me what to do?" Jihoon said.
