I make a mental note to tell Marley to do some streaming and stuff. So, that people don't get suspicious.
After a while of meeting everyone, and eating. People were starting to leave as the sun was setting. We were at the house my parents rented for the day. We were going to take rest then leave.
"Wow. That was a long day!" Mom let out.
"Tell me about it." Gracy rolled her eyes. "My cheeks hurt from all the squeezing."
Gracy was currently laying with her head on Marley's lap, while she stroked her hair.
And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit jealous. But come on now, who wouldn't be?
"Darlings? Are you going to stay for dinner?" Mom asked, addressing Marley and me.
I quickly shook my head, before Marley could say anything. "No. we'll head out in a bit. Our pets are alone at home right now."
Call it selfish. But I want Marley to be alone with me laying in her lap, in place of Gracy.
"Yeah, we probably should." Marley voices as my back up.
"Awh. Ok. Next time, you guys have to come and stay at least a few days!" Mom says, firmly.
"No, don't go Marley! I bet Clay is just jealous right now and wants you to himself." Gracy deduced. And I stuck my tongue out to her.
"Well, either way, Leo and Patches has been alone for quite some while now. We should probably go back." Marley explains.
I give a look of victory to Gracy and this time, she sticks out her tongue at me.
I get up from my seat "Well, let's go?"
I extend my arms to Marley. Gracy gets up from her lap as Marley grabs my hand.
"Awh, you two are so cute! Come visit us soon!" Mom says, getting up to give us a hug by the door. The others were too tired so they stayed where they were, bidding us farewell. Gracy came though, and gave us a hug as well.
"Of course, See you, Mom! And Grace!" Marley gives them a warm smile.

As the short meeting wrapped up between Clays mother, his sister and Marley. Clay could feel his heart beat like a drum.
Would his family love the girl he likes so much? Of course they would. She was way too lovable. But the jitters still stayed. When they started to leave, he snuck a quick glance at his family, and they both grinned and gave him a thumbs up.
Relief flushed over him. Strangely enough, getting the assurance of his two most precious people made him more certain of his feelings.
He loved her.
