Chapter 2: Coffee Shop
Amara woke up in a daze. As much as she wants to continue sleeping, her schedule is packed for this day.
She leave her comfortable bed and walked to the bathroom. She washes her face and looks at herself in the mirror. Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, she wants to curse a certain person who occupies her time today when she could have slept in. Sighing, she hops into the shower and starts her morning routine.
Walking out wearing a towel after a refreshing bath, she picked up the folded clothes on the mini sofa that she prepared yesterday. She wore a navy blue long sleeve dress shirt with a black sleeveless top underneath, black high waist jeans, and black combat boots. She folded the sleeve of the dress shirt while walking towards the bedside table. Taking her phone and small wallet, she left her apartment.

A stream of people walks along the sidewalk. No one greeted each other, much less look at the people around them.
Amara walks past the busy street and looks around the road. Seeing that it is still early for her appointment, she walks to the first coffee shop she saw.
The bell on the door jingle, signaling a new customer. She looks around the shop and saw that few people are inside. Walking towards the counter, the cashier greeted her with a smile.
"Hello, welcome. What would you like to order?" A woman in her late twenties asked for her order.
"One mocha frappuccino and one black coffee to go." The woman nodded and tell her to wait for five minutes.
Amara walks to an unoccupied table beside the window and looks outside. She watches as busy people walk, minding their own businesses. Most are looking at their watch to check the time. No greetings, as if no one has the intention of even knowing strangers. Just the way she likes.
"Here's your coffee, Miss." She snapped out of her thoughts and smiled at the kind-looking waitress.
Leaving the table while holding her order, she walks towards the exit door. Before she left the shop, the entrance door opened. Three men and a woman walked in, as the bell chimed softly.
Amara saw them and her soul marks burn faintly. She tighten her hold on the coffee in both her hands, then walked away after averting her eyes. Her messy and fast stride were different than the steady and measured walk she show before.
Natasha saw a glimpse of her back. Eyes narrowed in the direction where she disappeared. Someone patted her shoulder and she looked at the hand's owner.
"What's wrong?" Clint saw Natasha looking somewhere, so he looked at it and saw nothing.
"There's nothing in there?" Natasha shook her head and smile faintly.
"I must be wrong." Clint smiled at her and bump her shoulder. He was about to reply when Sam shouted at them.
"Hey! You two, what are you dawdling there? It's time to order." Clint walked to their other companions. Natasha paused for a second then shake her head.
"It must be my illusion..." She whispers as she pats the soul mark on her left hip, then followed Clint.

Central Park.
Amara walks towards a bench shaded by a tree near the lake in the park and sat down. She gave the cup of black coffee to someone beside her and lean her back, finding a comfortable position.
"No wonder you are so persistent on suggesting this place, you know." She said calmly while sipping her Frappuccino, closing her eyes as she put the cup between them.
"What do you mean?" The man beside her looked at her and smile annoyingly.
"Don't play charades with me. You know damn well what I'm talking about." She turned abruptly causing the man to move back.
"Woah. Woah. Calm down young lady." He raised his hand in surrender as he saw the fake smile on her face. In contrast to her gentle features, he knows that her personality is nothing but that.
"Do you know how many of them I met just after coming here?" She glares at him while still keeping her smile, "Five! One-third of them, Fury. You f*cking traitor!" He watches as her blue eyes change their color into black, showing her anger at him. He look up and saw the once clear blue sky turning gray. Knowing why this happened, he almost cursed at himself for angering her.
"Okay, calm down we are in public. Amara, you..." He thought of what he can say to appease her, "You want that panther right? Black one? I'll ask my contacts for that one. You calm down first." He sighs in relief and secretly wipes the sweat on his forehead after seeing her look away from him, knowing he avoided a disaster.
"Fine." She said and then remembered something. "Right. Send me details on your secret super boy band." Nick looks at her, offended.
"They are not my secret super boyband, at least not secret anymore..." He emphasized the first part and mumble the rest. Hearing this she sent him a look of mock understanding which he pretended not to see and continued, "Besides you can access it on your own." She shook her head and sighs heavily. Nick become concerned and asked her worriedly.
"What's wrong? Did someone bother you?" She glances at him for a while then winked.
"I'm just kidding." She took another sip of her coffee and found it empty. Putting it down, she looked at Fury who rolled his eye at her.
"You have time to hack on FBI, NASA, and Department of Defense in the US but you have none in logging in?" She pouted at hearing his sarcasm.
"Can't I?" Nick Fury just shook his head at her antics and agreed. "I'll send it later." She nodded in satisfaction and blinked, remembering something.
"I asked you something, did you find it?" Nick reach for his pocket and gave her a piece of paper. She took it and saw an address. "Verified?" She asked him to which he nodded. Their conversation ended as she stands up and walk away. Nick looks at her back and smiles after thinking of something.
"I guess I'll just buy her something..." He said and stand up from his seat. Fixing his clothes, he took one more look at her back and walk away in the opposite direction.
