Valentina pov

Once I got comfortable in the car, I took my AirPods out and put on some music to calm my anxiety. Today's pick was Taylor Swift.

The car ride wasn't that bad; I guess I didn't hear anything my brothers said. I was too focused on my music, plus I zoned out. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous to go to school. It also didn't help that my brothers didn't shut the fuck up the entire car ride. I knew they talked about sports and things they had in common, but I tuned them out habitually.

When we got there, the large school had historic features and similar features to Gilmore Girls.

"Get off," Luca said, and I took my backpack and got out first, basically jumping over Romeo.

"Oka" Romeo said with a confused tone. "Do you need help"Romeo asked, worried about me.

"No, it's okay. I'll just find my way around," I said reading his mind. He probably noticed my leg up and down on the car or me zoning out in the car. Anyways I needed to do this alone without my twin beside me.

"Okay text me if you need anything," he said, not convinced about my statement, before walking inside with full confidence as if he had come here since he was a freshman.

As he walked in the doors, I whispered to myself "Oka let's just go inside and find the principal office." As I walked into the building, I was amazed. The lockers, the lightning, and the color were all truly amazing. I was kind of in a trance when I accidentally bumped into a boy.

"Sorry," I said, meaning it. He was a pretty, blonde boy with wavy hair. He looked like a funny guy, definitely. He was pretty tall for his age, compared to me. Maybe a good 6'0, 6'1 if I wasn't wrong. I'm 5'4, and these Mary Jane's make me 5'5, but an inch is an inch.

"No problem; are you having trouble finding something," He asked me with a flirty smile. A smile I know all too well. His smile was polite and sincere, which I had learned to distinguish from after years of fake ones.

"Yes, do you know where the principal office is I need to pick up my schedule, " I asked him since I didn't have a clue where I was or where I was headed.

"Yeah, I spent half of my sophomore year there," he said with that same smile, and I couldn't help but laugh.

"What's your name?" I asked him as I walked right beside him.

"Leonardo, but my friends call me Leo," he said, as he walked while he loosened his tie and the first button of his white collared shirt. "What's your name?" He asked, as he scanned something, almost like he recognized me from somewhere but didn't remember.

"Valentina," I said immediately.

"That's a pretty name," I smiled at him for the compliment. I didn't get complimented a lot by other people outside my family,so this was weird to me. They always complimented Isobel, not me, she was definitely the boy pretty out of the both of us.

"Thanks, yours too," I said as he walked into a hall.

"Well, thank you, Valentina," he repeated my name ,

We walked for a while in this hall before one of us spoke again.

"Where are you from?" He asked as he tried getting to know me better,or probably noticing my accent.

"Italy," I said proudly.

"Ooh, that's cool, I have a friend that's also Italian like lived half his life there before he moved," he said, full of energy at 8 a.m.

"That's so cool!" I responded as I tried to match his energy. In conclusion, I can't function until 10.

"Here we are," he said as he pointed to the big brown door in front of us.
