( Y/N ) had developed an interest in reading.

Something she never thought she'd pick up, but in the midst of her recovery, this was the only thing to keep her sane.

That and the constant visits from the boys. Every day they would go out, and every night they would return. Sometimes with each other, but other times, Ace would be by himself.

He would tell her all the things he and Sabo did that day, and even let her in on their secret stash of treasure once Dadan and the others were out of earshot.

He even promised to take her there when her ankle was fully healed.

That made her want to recover even faster. All the tales of his and Sabo's adventures in the woods and how they were to become well renowned pirates made her envious and even want to pick up the occupation herself.

A few days had passed since she was taken in by Dadan, and lately she's been saying how ( Y/N ) was a breath of fresh air after being surrounded by men for who knows how many years. Though she didn't understand the stress Dadan may have been building up, she was glad they were getting a little closer, even if it had only been a few days.

The state of her ankle was improving. Before, any pressure applied would've left her in tears, but at least now it wasn't like that. The color and swelling had faded, but it still had occasional sharp pains running through her leg that limited her mobility.

For today, ( Y/N ) chose to stay in and read. Again. But at least she got a new book. Dogra and Magra went into town and got her a few so she wasn't reading the same old ones over and over again until she was bored to tears.

"He's Garp-san's grandkid?!"

The sudden outburst had caught ( Y/N ) off guard. The voices from the previously mentioned trio's - Dadan, Magra and Dogra - voices erupted from outside and a few more voices she didn't recognize.

Visitors?

Setting the book down, ( Y/N ) stood, elevating her foot from the ground, and lightly hopped towards the window. Her plan to spy on them from the window failed as she was too short to even see out of it.

Time for plan b.

Opening the door as quietly as she could, ( Y/N ) peeked her head out to survey the area. Sitting in front of the door was Dadan, Dogra and Magra. Past then stood an elder man, standing mightily with his arms crossed. He had short grey hair attached to a well-kept beard. He was wearing some type of formal attire, so she assumed he was a man of importance.

Much to her dismay, the old man caught sight of her, "My, what do we have here?" Attention soon fell on ( Y/N ) as she shrunk back as if she hasn't been caught eavesdropping on their conversation. Walking past the trio, the man knelt down to her level and offered a friendly smile, "What's your name, little one?"
