Beidou as Ningguang's Bodyguard (beiguang)

Part 42: Secret Agent

Beidou discovers herself laying in a bed and she looks at the unfamiliar ceiling, "Ugh, where am I?", asked her as she tries to sit down on the bed. 

"W-what?! Why am I naked?!", screamed Beidou as she is shocked to see that she doesn't have any clothes on her. 

Beidou looks over to view the room and realizes that she is in a hotel room which made her flustered more. "I need to know why I'm here.", said Beidou as she tries to get off the bed. 

"Oh. You're awake, Captain.", said a voice who was just gone out of the bathroom with only her bathrobe, it seems like she's just finished taking a bath. 

"Y-You?! Yelan?!", shouted Beidou as she doesn't believe the figure that is in front of her. 

"Hey, long time no see, Captain.", said Yelan as she walks to Beidou and smiles at her. 

"H-how did you? Why are you here?!", said Beidou. 

"Calm down, heh, I guess a lot of things changed. I'll answer your question shortly.", said Yelan as she sits down on the edge of Beidou's bed. 

"When did you come back?", asked Beidou as she tries to wear her eye patch. 

"A couple of days ago. I went back to report Ningguang, but it seems like there she was occupied with something important.", said Yelan as she looks at the state of Beidou.

"I take it that you've got the intel about the Chasm then?", asked Beidou as she drinks a glass of water beside her. Then, she gulps down the aspirin that Yelan prepares for her as she knows Beidou would be in such a hangover.

"Classified, but for you, yeah. That's why I'm going to report today. Moreover, don't you have a duty for today?", asked Yelan as she then stands up to sort her clothes.

"I do, but I think I'm going to call off for today. My headache will not make it for today's training.", sighs Beidou as she then lays down again on her bed.

"You still don't answer my question.", said Beidou with a pout on her mouth.

"Hm? Should I tell you or not?", teased Yelan.

"Heh, I forgot how secretive you are about information.", said Beidou.

"Fine, you were drunk that night at the bar, I just happened to be there to take a break. I escort you to this room, while you're mumbling about someone...", paused Yelan as she teases Beidou.

"No! I know what you mean! That doesn't explain why am I naked in the first place!", said Beidou again.

"It was raining last night and as I dragged you to this room, our clothes were soaked and you would be shivering in fever if it's not because of me.", said Yelan as she looks at Beidou.

"Hmph. I don't believe you.", said Beidou as she crosses her arms.

"Suit yourself then, I told you the truth.", said Yelan ignoring Beidou's annoyance.

"Beidou, is something changed inside of you? I know that I always teased you from time to time, but I felt like I talk to a different person, I would never imagine you to be this... ", paused Yelan.

"Loose? Yeah. I feel like I owe you a story. But, I'll tell you that later, I'm starving.", said Beidou as she gets up from the bed and went to the bathroom.

Yelan stares at Beidou for a while which makes Beidou ask, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing, carry on.", said Yelan as she then occupies herself.

Beidou goes to the bathroom to freshen herself up as Yelan sits down on the sofa and thought to herself, "She really outdid herself, huh. Her wounds are way too many and deep, was that because of her last fight?"

"Right, I'm done. So, do you still have some spare time?", asked Beidou as she dries herself and wears her suit.

"I do, want to get some breakfast?, asked Yelan as she also got ready for the day.

"Heh, totally. This hungover and headache is killing me, I need to eat a lot of  Jueyun Chicken from Wanmin Restaurant.", said Beidou as she looks at Yelan.

"Fine, let's go.", said Yelan as they went out of the hotel to stroll around the harbor. 

They sit down at Wanmin Restaurant, "Xiangling! One Jueyun Chili Chiken! Extra hot!", shouted Beidou as she said with a joyful tone. 

"Right, and you Ms?", asked Xiangling as she looks at Yelan.

"A portion of Jueyun Chilli.", said Yelan as she puts her hand on her palm.

There is a silence between them and they ask at the same time.

"What?!", asked Beidou and Xiangling.

"Hm? Is there a problem?", asked Yelan.

"You're weird. Do you know that? Who the hell eats raw chilies.", said Beidou as she looks away.

Xiang awkwardly excuses herself as she prepares the meal. "It's just my preference. It's not your problem.", said Yelan.

"So, how did you acquire your vision?", asked Yelan suddenly which made Beidou chokes some water.

"I-what?! How did you-", Beidou's words were shushed by Yelan's.

"Are you stupid? Every single citizen in Liyue already knows that. There are no people in Teyvat who acquire vision nowadays, of course, it's big news.", scoffed Yelan as she sips her water.

"Well...haha it's kinda a long story.", said Beidou as she scratches the back of her head.

"I know that you won the Swordsmanship Duel of Teyvat, defeating La Signora. That was where you get your vision, right? But, I still don't know why you join the championship in the first place.", said Yelan with a serious face.

"Yes, but the reason...it's personal. But, hey, at least I got out of there alive and can protect Lady Ningguang once again!", said Beidou with optimism.

"Your food is here!", said Xiangling as she lowers the plate in front of them.

"Cool, thanks Xiangling!", said Beidou.

"Beidou, you've clearly changed. You...can express your feelings and emotion?", asked Yelan confusingly.

"....yeah, I've got my memories back. An event made me forget all of my childhood memories, and about Ningguang. I was used...until I lost all of my emotions. But, not anymore!", said Beidou she smiles.

"Good for you then, I take it that you have a crush on Ningguang?", teased Yelan.

"W-w-what?!!! I mean...yeah. But recently, I made her upset. I don't think I can see her right now.", said Beidou as she lowers her spoon.

"I figured, you were mumbling about Ningguang. Don't leave me, Ningguang.", teased Yelan again as she giggled.

"Ugh, shut up! It's embarrassing!", shouted Beidou as she tries to close Yelan's mouth. Yelan giggles seeing her old friend as she always loved to tease Beidou. 

Meanwhile, Ningguang has just finished her meeting from Yujing Terrace and decided to stop by the harbor. Ningguang instructed Keqing to accompany her since Beidou called for a day off today.

"Is that...Captain Beidou? She is with...Ms. Yelan?!", asked Keqing confusingly.

Ningguang sees the two of them laughing while eating together which made Ningguang stops and be silent. Her face is unreadable as she furrows her eyebrows. "Is that your answer?", thought Ningguang to herself and immediately walks away from Wanmin Restaurant.

"Lady Ningguang? I-I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding, Captain Beidou would never-", but Keqing's words are shushed by Ningguang's

"Whatever, I don't care anymore. That idiot.", said Ningguang as she fastens her pace to the Jade Chamber.
