14. Second chances??

I woke up this morning really happy with how yesterday went. If I'm being honest I expected Keira to completely ignore me and it was the total opposite, I know that I can't get carried away but I'm just really happy. I decide to get up and brush my teeth before heading down to the canteen for some breakfast. When I get in I grab a plate with some eggs and toast and get a cup of coffee and some strawberries, before I head over and sit at a table with Demi, Lauren, Alex, Beth Mead and Steph.
"Morning girls" i says as I sit down next to Demi
"Morning Lee" they all say back
"How did you sleep" Demi asks as the rest of the girls carry on with a conversation
"Yeah, ok I guess"
"What's wrong"
"Nothing, yesterday was just a bit unexpected I guess" i says s I start eating
"I told you, and you wouldn't believe me, honestly Lee she understands so stop stressing over it"
"Yeah I guess" I say just as Keira and Kara walk in.
Kara is sitting comfortably on Keira's hip and they are both laughing and joking.
"It really suits her" I say quiet enough just so Demi can hear.
"What"
"Being a mum"
"Oh god I've seen that look before" she says nudging my ribs and laughing.
"Shut up" I say blushing and looking at the ground.
Next thing I know the little girl in standing in front of Demi giving her a hug.
"Morning auntie Demi"
"Morning kar" Demi says as she hugs her back
"Morning Leah"
"Morning Kara" I say as the little girl opens her arms and gives me a hug, and I gladly hug back.
"Where's fluffy today" I ask and she looks up sadly
"Mummy wouldn't let me bring her cuz she'd get lost" she says smiling at me
I just smile in return before we hear Keira say
"Kara come on, leave Leah alone so she can eat"
Kara runs off to grab Keira hand and we lock eyes and smile at each other, before she goes and sits at a table with Leah Williamson, Georgia Stanway, Ella Toone, and Katie Zelem.
"Dem, can I ask you something"
"Yeah go for it kid"
"So I got asked to do and interview with the bbc for mental health and to kind of tell my story, and I was thinking of asking Keira if I could tell them that I was in a relationship, and how it effected it. I mean I wouldn't say her name or anything and obviously I would ask her permissions, if I ever work up the courage to, but I just want to share my story to try and help people, do you think it's a good idea ?"
"That's amazing Lee, and yeah 100% you should ask her because the more honest you are the better" she says putting a hand on my shoulder
"Thanks Dem" I say smiling
"When is the interview"
"Tomorrow morning"
"Oh jeez, you better get asking kid" she says nodding in the direction of Keira.
"Yeah I know, I'll wait until after training"
"Good idea"

When we finish eating we all head up to our rooms to get ready for training. We had a really intense session that focused on fitness and shooting. We were all walking back to the boot room and I felt an arm swing around my shoulder.
"How's R kid" Alex asked me
"I'm good Al how are you"
"I'm good, just letting you know that the team bonding tonight is a movie and some games in Steph and Ellen's room"
"Thanks for the heads up" I said smiling as we walk away from each other. Just as I'm about to head out of the boot room and back up to my bedroom I hear someone call my name.
"Leah" I turn around and see Keira standing there.
She has her hair in a messy bun, her cheeks are rosy from sweating and she's still in her training kit.
"Yeah" I say softly
"Am I was just wondering if I could have a chat with you later, like just us"
"Am yeah, I was actually going to ask you the same thing" I say smiling shyly
"Is it ok if we do it during the team bonding because otherwise I won't have anyone to watch Kara"
"Yeah that's fine" I say smiling
"Ok see you then"
"Yeah" I say as I walk away blushing. We'll that was easier than expected.

I became a bit impatient for the rest of the evening, I was a bit nervous about talking to Keira later, I wasn't sure what she wanted to talk to me about but I guess I was going to have to wait and see. I got a text from Alex telling me that everyone was meeting in Steph and Ellen's room at 7:00. I look at my watch and it's now 6:00 so I decide to jump in the shower quickly. When I get out I put on some grey Nike joggers, a plain white t-shirt, white Nike socks and my Yeezy slides, and I put my hair up in a bun before grabbing my phone and heading over to Steph's room. When I get in it's fairly full so I decide to sit on the sofa in the corner and keep myself to myself.
"You alright Lee" Steph asks me
"Yeah yeah, just tired" I say smiling.
Just as I say this Keira and Kara walk in the door. She catches my eye and we both smile at each other.
Next thing I know Kara is running in my direction and she hops up on the couch next to me and looks at me proudly. "Look what I have" she says as she pulls her teddy out from behind her back.
"Oh hello fluffy" I say as I rub her teddy's head and she laughs. My heart melts when I hear it. It's the cutest thing I've heard.
Me and Kara talk for a few more minutes until I look up and catch Keira gazing over at us. She has a smile printed on her lips.
