"Hey y/n" Meredith greeted catching you at the nurses station

"Hey" you forced a smile at her

"You rushed out this morning" she sighed putting a hand in your back

"Jesus baby... your hot" she moved her hand off your hot back

"Not now Mer" you tried to walk away

"No baby" she turned you to look at her

She put her hands on your cheeks then one to your forehead

"God your burning up! How are you feeling?" She became very concerned

"I feel fine" you lied

Obviously you weren't convincing enough because Meredith raised an eyebrow at you and gave you a strict look

"Yes. I feel fine. If I get worse I'll go home ok" thankfully her paged saved you

"Ugh I gotta go. Page me if you need me" she kissed your cheek before leaving.

"Are you sure you feel ok" Meredith asked seeing as you looked pretty pale

The two of you were eating lunch out on the courtyard. You didn't even get food today.

"Yes Meredith I'm fine" you snapped

You immediately felt the need to apologize

You never yelled at her. She was just trying to help

"Meredith-"

"No. No" she pointed her finger at you and walked away.

You really thought you'd screwed it up this time

Now you were sick and alone without your girlfriend to nurture you.

You put your head in the palm of you hands cursing at yourself but to your surprise you heard her chair pull back out again

You looked up and she was sitting back down. This time with food.

"You feel fine?" She asked And you nodded trying not to gag as you watched her pop a cherry tomato into her mouth.

"If you feel fine eat this" she handed you a carrot

"I'm not-"

"Eat it." She instead pushing it into your hand

You rolled you eye and took a bite

You started to gag trying to sallow it

Suddenly you grabbed a paper bag from the hand of another doctor walking by and throwing up into it

Meredith cursed and pulled your hair back

When you'd finished emptying your guts into the bag Meredith pulled you up dragging you through the hospital.

"Where are we going?" You asked groggily

"I'm giving you some meds and a banana drip. Then I'm taking you home"

"You have patients" you looked up at her

She sighed nodding her head.

"Just stay here ok. I'm gonna do this real fast then I'll be back for you"

She handed you a few pills before easily connecting you to an IV

An hour later she came back

You were asleep. She smiled at you softly before walking around the cat and stroking your hair.

You opened your heavy eyes to like at her

"Hey" you smiled rubbing the sleep from your eyes

"How you feelin?" She asked continuing to stoke your hair.

"I've been better" you grabbed her other hand and she brought it up to your lips where she gave it a kiss.

She sat path you for a few minutes asking you routine questions.

"Meredith I'm ok. It's probably just the flu I can go home"

"Nope I already admitted you. You don't go home until I discharge you" she said sternly yet giving you a sweet look.

She Began to ignore her now beeping pager

"You can go I'm ok?" You squeezed her hand you were still holding onto

"You sure?" She asked kissing it again and you only nodded

"Ok.. I'm gonna be in surfy for a few hours but Christina's around if you need anything" she kissed your head before walking out

Threw the glass door of your exam room she gave you a sweet reassuring smile before rising down to the OR

You smiled to yourself as you closed your eyes again letting sleep overtake you.
