Living in a hospital for most of your young life is like living in a overbearing hell. Every day you are treated like you can't do normal things other kids can do. That is basically why I agreed to the cute girl Meadow coming to see me every day. I couldn't wait for her visit because for some reason she makes me want to get to know her more I can't seem to fathom what this feeling she has created in me but I know I don't want it to end. I feel like with this girl I can do anything and for some reason I actually let the nurses give me my medicine. I am fiddling with my guitar that my father gave me when I heard Doctor Burns come in.
"He's in here Meadow", Doctor Burns says as I see Meadow walk into the room with a stunning beautiful floral mini dress and black leggings. She had on no make-up and let her short curly hair down which made her blue eyes pop out beautifully. I chuckle and look at her mischievously.
"You got all dolled up for silly old me darling", I say teasing her and laughing when she blushes bright red. She shakes her head and takes a seat in the chair next to my bed.
"I'll just leave you two alone", Doctor Burns says before giving me a warning glare.
"You play guitar", Meadow asked gesturing to the guitar in my hand. I put it down and sit on the edge of the bed.
"Oh um....Yeah my um....Dad gave it to me before he sorta passed away", I said as something flashed across Meadow's eyes when I said my dad. It was like a sort of anger, regret, and sadness gleamed in her eyes before it disappeared. I frown and look into her eyes again.
"Is something wrong did I do something wrong?" I asked her.
"What? Oh no it's just that I sorta lost my dad as well after my mom died", Meadow said.
"Oh well I am sure he proud of what you are doing", I said as she scoffed and laughs bitterly.
"Yeah right like anything I do is important to him unless he needs a favor from me yeah he is proud to ask for it", Meadow said as I look at her in surprise and shock.
"Oh I just assumed he was dead not that he left", I said regretting words I said before.
"Nope. Not dead just gone from my life only coming when he needs money from me", Meadow said looking down at her feet.
"Oh well then it's his loss oh well", I said as she looked at me and smiled.
"Thanks. So have you been doing your treatments like you had promised me", Meadow said as I nodded and I got up off the bed. I walked to the door.
"So what do you have planned for today", I asked as she shrugged. I nod and smile as I open up the door.
"Have you ever been to the secret lounge", I said smirking at her shocked expression. I motion for her to follow me which she does and she gets up off the chair following me out into the hall. I lead her through all the nooks and crannies of the hospital.
"What exactly is this secret lounge", Meadow asked as I looked at her and smirked.
"You'll see", I said
I lead her to the gray door that for years has been my solitude from the pressures of life. I open the door to reveal the artwork that I had painted on the wall. For years I would paint the scenes of dreams that I have been having for the longest time. A woman or girl would come and save me when I was lying in a hospital bed and I hoped it was my mother but I wasn't so sure. I sat on the couch and I patted the spot next to me and she came sitting down next to me before she turned and looked at one painting that I had made. It had a beautiful girl that was dancing around her lover's room.
"Wow I love that one", She says
"Really? I made that one in curiosity because I kinda didn't know what made love so special. I kinda thought girls were there for um ya know sex", I said as she blushed.
"Well I doubt that is what we are used for Mr. Moreno" Meadow says grinning.
"Yeah don't I know that now", I say laughing.
"So I couldn't help but remember that you said your a singer. Sing a song for me", I said as she looks at me and then blushes.
"Okay but you cannot tell anyone", She says as I nod
"I swear on my life", I say smiling. She gets up and goes in front of me before she begins to sing,
(L
(That's the song she is singing)
Somebody's gotta wear a pretty skirt,
Somebody's gotta be the one to flirt,
Somebody gotta wanna hold his hand so God made girlsSomebody's gotta make 'em get dressed up,
Somebody's gotta give 'em a reason to wash that truck,
Somebody gotta teach 'em how to dance so God made girlsHe needed something soft and loud and sweet and proud
But tough enough to break a heart
Something beautiful and breakable that lights up in the darkSo God made girls God made girls he stood back and told the boys
I'm bout to rock your worldAnd God made girls (For singing in your front seat)
God made girls (For dancin' to their own beat)
He stood back and told the boys I'm bout to rock your world
And God made girls.I am in lost for words because her voice was so beautiful. She smiles as she sings and I see another side of her come out as she is singing. She opens her eyes as she is about to finish the song and looks at me.
Somebody's gotta wear a pretty skirt,
Somebody's gotta be the one to flirt,
Somebody gotta wanna hold his hand so God made girlsShe finishes and looks at me smirking before she blushes red.
"What", She asked
"Nothing its just you sing so beautiful", I said as she blushed and I smirked.
"I think you convinced me Mrs. Alvarez why girls are here", I said as she she laughed and I soon began to laugh. I looked at her and realized that I had made a friend and I might have been able to find love as well, because I would be lying if I said that I wasn't falling for Meadow's personality.
