Across the lake is where I felt at home. I came from a big town with lots of chatter, to a very small community of people. It was always a dream of mine to finally be at peace with the world. To live out my dreams of doing what I want, whenever I want. Without being judged upon. I would be outside laying in the grass, gazing at the glistening sun. It was quite a breezy afternoon, and the day felt like it was passing me by second by second. There's just so much to explore.
I would hear bonfires being setup in the forest nearby, the crackling of the bonfire felt like home to me. It was my first day here, and I can really get used to the cozy sounds of the water as it flows by, and the breeze hitting the trees. I was truly a nature girl, and I'm living the dream. I would then hear my name get called as I would sit up. "Blaire!" my mom would say, walking towards me. I'd get up and ask "Anything you need?" as she smiled at me. "We're going to have dinner outside tonight." she'd say as I grew excited.
"Outside!?" I'd exclaim as happiness filled my face. "Of course sweetie, I have been chatting with the other families in the meanwhile." she'd reply as I immediately grew interested. I wanted to join in on the conversation as I love to talk to other people. I'd run up to sit right down and greet myself to the neighbors. "Hi! My names Blaire, it's really nice to meet you all!" I'd say as my parents would walk up to us.
"Having fun?" my mom would ask as I replied "It's really fun!" I'd look around and wonder where my sister and dad was, I got up and went back inside the cabin. "Hey Claire, why aren't you coming out?" I'd ask as she would flip through her book. "I'm really invested in this book, you know me, always loving some good romance." she'd say as she looked at me. "Oh, I hope you have fun reading it! Come out whenever you're ready to." I'd say as I gave her a hug, and visited my dad. He didn't seem to look happy when I asked him why he wasn't coming out. I would slowly walk out and go back outside.
Someone would run up to me and immediately greet me. "Hey, my names Paige. Heard your new around here." she'd say as I was excited to see someone around my age. "My names Blaire!" I'd say, with a happy expression on my face. She would slowly start to smile as she would look around. "I really hope we get to become friends, I love to talk." I'd say as she looked right at me. "Sounds fun Blaire, see you around." she'd say as we both waved each other goodbye.
I was mesmerized by her really cute blonde hair for a brief moment, before I would go back to sit down with my family. "Welcome back!" they would all say as I felt so much happiness inside of me. "It's really nice to be back!" I'd reply as we all continued to eat together. As the sun would start to set, I'd run up near the lakes. I never seen something so beautiful before in person. It had my full attention for as long as it lasted.
When the sun faded away, I got to see all the stars in the sky. I felt like I couldn't move away from this position. Paige would walk right up next to me. "Looks great doesn't it." she'd say as I got a little stunned. "It's really great." I'd say as she would look a bit nervous. "Is everything okay?" I'd ask her as she would reply "Yeah! I'm just a little introverted." I'd shake my head, then reply "Take your time, no need to rush!" she'd slightly grin as she would start to head back.
"Talk to you later." she'd say, as we both waved at each other. I'd start to also head back to the cabin. I'd hear my parents chatting in their room while my sister was in the living room, still reading her book. "You're really liking that book I see." I'd say as she looks back at me. "It really speaks to me." she replied as she continued reading. "I hope you continue enjoying it!." I'd say as I walked into my room. This was my second time today seeing it, as I was outside the majority of my day.
I'd take out my guitar from my case, and begin to play it a bit. I loved playing guitar since I was younger, and wanted to pursue my dream of being a guitarist one day. I wanted to make my family proud. I'd practice this song for a while before I was exhausted. I'd place it back in my case and begin to head to sleep. I feel there is so much more to do for tomorrow, and it excited me to see what it holds.
