My alarm went off as I jumped up to instantly start off my morning. I'd grab some breakfast and I was immediately ready to experience the outdoors. I felt at peace with the world around me as I began to take it all in once more. I'd look around and see neighbors sitting on their chairs enjoying some refreshing drinks, as I saw Paige sitting next to the lake. I'd go up and sit next to her as I loved to make random conversations.
"Hey!" I'd say as Paige quickly turns around. "Nice seeing you here." she'd reply as her head faces the lake once again. "The lake sure looks nice." I'd say as an attempt to make conversation. "It brings me joy, not that I get much elsewhere." she'd say as I looked a bit confused, but wouldn't intrude on it further. "I'm glad it brings you joy, it's really refreshing to me." I'd say as she shook her head. Things would turn silent and awkward before I saw my twin sister Claire walk outside.
She came out wearing her swimsuit and brought a chair, her book, and really cute glasses. I'd run up to her to see what she was up to. "Hey! Cute swimsuit." I'd say as she had a big smile across her face, and laughed. "Thank you, you should come join me." she'd say as she starts to walk away. "Sounds fun!" I'd quickly say as I went back inside to get my own swimsuit on. "Hey honey, where are you going?" my mom would say as I explained "I'm going with Claire to hangout." she would hope we have fun as I went to change.
I'd head out with my own chair and sit next to Claire. She seemed excited to have me next to her. "I've been meaning to tell you something actually." she'd exclaim as I looked interested. "What did you want to tell me?" I'd ask as she would reply "I was thinking of becoming an author someday, I feel confident about it." she'd say with a grin on her face. I was in full support of her as soon as she told me. "Do whatever makes you happy, I support you all the way!" I'd say as we both shared laughed together.
"What about you? You're like some master guitarist yourself." she'd say as I looked in awe. "You think so?" I'd ask as she laughed, "Of course I do, I wanna see you perform on the big stages." She'd say as I felt more passionate than ever about pursuing this. "Thank you, I definitely will think about it." I'd say as she would get up and head inside the lake. "Wanna join in sis?" She'd ask as I immediately would head inside.
We would both swim for a while, enjoying the time spent together. I take up any opportunity to spend time with Claire, as we have a connection like none other. Right after we got done swimming, we went out to dry off. We sat right back down and she would smile at me. "That was really fun." she'd exclaim as I agreed with her. "Never felt that in our old city." I'd reply as she was quick to agree. She'd pick up her book and start reading as I sat back and looked at the sky.
"I see you two are having fun!" My mom would go up to us as we both stared back at her. "Lots of fun." we would both reply as she looked a bit down. "Where's dad?" I'd say as she was hesitant for a brief moment to speak. "He's, alright dear." she'd say nervously as she quickly walked away. "That was awkward." Claire would say as I said "Yeah, wonder what's going on." she replied "Probably joking like she usually does." I'd look around confused but understood.
"I'm gonna go and try to meet more people." I'd say as Claire looked on in approval. "See you soon." she'd say as I quickly ran back inside to change. I'd try and check up on my dad but my mom would stop me before I went in their room. "Hun, he's fine, just go have fun." she'd say as I felt a little confused. I'd walk outside with a very concerned mindset. I'd walk around as it started to get into the afternoon, exploring my surroundings.
I'd walk around the lake, which was huge and comforting to me. I'd overhear some singing coming from somewhere, so I was very quick to investigate it. I'd walk around for a few minutes until I got closer to the singing. I eventually seen a girl sitting right next to a tree, singing very beautifully. The lyrics sounded pretty upsetting, but her vocals were on another planet. "Hello!" I'd say as she jumped right up. "Who are you?" she'd say as she got frightened. "I'm Blaire, and you are?" I'd say as she started breathing heavily.
"My names Laurie, aspiring singer. Just feel at peace around here where nobody else is, since my parents think I won't get anywhere by singing." she'd say as I quickly felt bad for her. "Singing will get you somewhere, have you heard your vocals?" I'd exclaim as she looked to the side. "You really think so?" she'd ask as I said "Of course, I'm a guitarist." she quickly looked on and was immediately interested. "That's super cool." she'd say as I grinned. "We should hang out sometime, everyone would love to hear you sing, I promise." I'd say as she seemed a little nervous still.
"I'll think about that, thank you for being so kind." she'd say as I would wave while walking away. I'd go running right back inside as I didn't see my parents there. "Mom? Dad?" I'd say as I went inside their room. I quickly ran outside to Claire and asked if she has seen them. "I didn't know they left either." she'd say as she got up and went inside with me. She'd get changed before we went to walk outside and search for them. "I hope everything's alright." Claire would say as we both walked around.
