It has been over 6 months since she came to live with Hayden and his father, during that time she became close with Aki, and Yukino helped Aki get close to the person that he liked. Aki had dated the person he like for over three months now and it has been over 6 months since she had come to stay with Hayden and his father. In just 2 more months and she would have to return to Japan but she had not to tell Hayden that she will be returning soon.
Aki like a friend of Yukino from another class, Aki didn't know that he would fall in love and understand what Yukino meant when she said that love was giving and not expecting anything in return until he saw Catherine. He fell in love at first sight with Catherine, he followed Yukino to watch Catherine any chance that he got to watch her but after doing so for over two months, Yukino cheered for him to confess since Catherine also seem to like Aki as well.
Yukino hangs out with the couple almost every day, the couple would send her home and Aki would walk her into the house every time because Catherine was tired and most of the time she would be asleep, Aki never wanted to wake her up and so it would be Aki who would walk her back to the house.
"Have a good night." Yukino said to Hayden after Aki had walked back to his car, as Yukino was about to walk up the stairs but Hayden took hold of her arm
"Explain to me. What is between you and that bas....that man." Hayden asked her and she yanked her arm back from him.
"Aki is my friend. There is nothing to explain." Yukino said to him, she had never seen him like this because since Yukino came to stay with them he had never really paid her any attention. She had little to no interaction with him at all, the time that they had talked to each other was during breakfast and dinner.
Hayden likes to spend his time either alone or with his friends and if he's not doing any of the two then he's working. He interact with her the less that he could and she could tell that he didn't want to spend time with her, she knew it since day one but she wanted to spend time with him before her time runs out and she have to return home.
A month passed
Yukino came into his office after knocking on the door, he gave her permission to go in and she walk into the office, a little shy since the two of them are not that close.
"....I've come to ask you if you would like to go celebrate my birthday with me." Yukino asked him but Hayden didn't look up at her at all, instead, he just look through his papers
"When is it?" Hayden asked her
"Three days from now." Yukino said to him but he shook his head
"I will be busy that day, how about another day?" Hayden asked her
"...then it's fine, sorry to interrupt you. Have a good night." Yukino said to him without waiting for him to reply back to her and she walk out of his office.
At dinner, Yukino was already sitting with uncle will and the two were talking about what she was going to do for her birthday.
"And where do you want to go?" Uncle Will asked her
"My friends we are thinking of flying to the US and going to Disney world." Yukino said to Hayden's father who nodded and Hayden walk into the dining room.
"What are you two talking about so happily?" Hayden asked them as he took a seat at the table
"Yukino is going to the US to go to Disney World with her friends, are you sure that you don't want to go along with them?" his father asked him but he shook his head
"The company has a meeting that needs me to attend, plus we had been dragging it out so we can't drag it out any longer." Hayden said to them, they had their dinner and went to bed.
Yukino flew out a day before her birthday with her group of friends not knowing that the next time she came back would be time for her to return home. Yukino and her group of friends went on a 6-day trip and when they came back home she received a call from home, her mother had fallen ill and needed her to go back home.
It was the first day that she had come back to Hayden's house from her trip to the US, and as she was about to unpack was when she got the call. Once she ended the call she rushed to tell uncle will that she has to return home 2 months ahead of time.
"I will have to leave right now, I've booked a flight that will leave in one hour and 30 minutes." Yukino said to uncle will, she looked around the living room to see if he was there but he wasn't.
".....Where is Hayden?" Yukino asked and Uncle Will shake his head
"Hayden won't be home for another 2 days, you should stay till he-" Uncle Will said to her but Yukino smiled and shook her head
"I can't stay that long, my mother isn't well. It was very nice to have met and spent time with you both." Yukino said to Uncle Will as she turned around about to leave.
"What about you and Hayden?" Uncle Will asked her and it stopped her, Yukino turned around and smiled at him.
"There is nothing to do uncle Will. It was my greatest wish to meet him and I've met him, that is all I could ask for. I do ask that you do not bring this up with Hayden, I will also ask my parents to not bring this up as well. It was my pleasure to have met you and Hayden, stay healthy and happy." Yukino said to uncle will and she left.
Yukino got on her flight and went back home, while Hayden knew nothing of this since he was busy with his meetings and had turned off his phone. He didn't get home until 2 days later, hoping that he could take her on a trip to celebrate her birthday.
Hayden got home, got changed and he waited. He waited and waited for her to come back but when he went down for dinner she was nowhere to be found and his father came down for dinner.
"Where's Yukino?" Hayden asked thinking that she probably went out with Aki again.
"Home." His father said to him
"Have her come down then." Hayden said but his father shook his head
"Her home not ours." His father said to him and it gave him a reality check, he was reminded that she doesn't live with him.
"What?! She went home?! Why didn't anyone tell me?" Hayden asked and his father sighs
"She went home two days ago, I called and texted you but you must've turned off your phone during those meetings." His father said to him and he turned his phone on and saw the texts and missed calls.
He never knew that he would feel so lost and miserable at the news that she was gone, he seemed to have forgotten that she wasn't here to stay but that her time was limited. He wished that he had more time with her, he wished that he had used the time before now better than he had spent it but now there is nothing he could do because she was gone, as he was about to give up his hope he remembered something.
"Wh-what about our engagement?" Hayden asked his father who took a seat at the dinner table and Hayden turned around, keeping his eyes on his father.
"Before she left, Yukino said to not worry about that. She will not pursue this further and will ask her parents to not bring it up to us and we will not bring it up to her as well." His father said to him and his heart sank, he had wrapped his head around the fact that she would become his wife but now she wants to cancel their engagement, forgetting the fact that he was the one who told her to not think too much about their fake engagement.
Hayden and his father sat down for dinner but without her there, something felt like it was missing from his life.
Two months went by, Hayden was lifeless and it was as if his mind was wandering elsewhere. He missed her badly to the point that he keep seeing her around the house and at school but he knew that she wasn't around anymore, she was probably at home and happy. He was going to just let it go until he got home and heard his father on the phone.
