Scene:
Addison finds out about Meredith's regression after Ellis is brought to the hospital.

Nobody's Pov:
It was a tough day for one specific blonde resident. Straight after rounds Meredith heard a voice which she doesn't particularly tend to like hearing, that would be her mother Ellis's voice.
One thing about Meredith is how she has to mentally prepare herself every time she sees her mom, but since she didn't know that Ellis would be rushed to the hospital today; she didn't have time to prepare herself in time. This was starting to not look good for Mer as she noticed that she started to feel herself slipping. Panicking while on the verge of tears, she ran to an on call room to get away from everyone.
Addison Pov:
Lately Grey keeps being put on my service and while I've never been close to her at all, I do feel bad that now everyone in this hospital knows about her mother's health condition. Speaking of my resident, I haven't really seen her around lately. After paging her twice with no answer I'm getting a little worried. I decide to go check the on call rooms and after getting closer to one of the doors, I hear sniffling. It's Meredith for sure.
I walk into the room to find a different form of the Meredith Grey that I usually see. This one has her thumb in her mouth with tear-streaked cheeks and messy hair while being wrapped up in a blanket. All of a sudden I feel this urge to give her a hug and the second I do I hear a faint voice saying "Addie Stay?".
Now I know that I can't just leave her so I head up to Richard's office and tell him that Meredith needs to go home because she has a really bad migraine and that I'm also heading home as well to make sure that she gets enough rest. Luckily enough Richard believes this lie and I make quick work of getting Meredith in the backseat of my car without drawing attention towards her since she doesn't need to deal with that.
Once we made it to my hotel room in order to give Meredith privacy from her roommates, and I put on some Wonder Pets to keep her entertained in her childlike state. After about an hour I notice that she has fallen asleep so I move the hair out of her face and put a blanket over her.
A few hours later Sleeping Beauty awakens. Although now I can tell that she is her usual self again. Instantly she starts apologizing to me for being a burden because of her "regression" as she calls it. We talk for a bit about her regression and I learn all about how she uses this as a coping mechanism but sometimes in stressful situations it becomes involuntary.
"Meredith, you are not a burden or a waste of space, you are a person who had a rough childhood and if you need to heal or cope with stress by regressing it is perfectly okay. You are using a healthy coping mechanism to help yourself and if you ever need anyone just ask."
