Aliyah:

I walk into their room and smile at how obvious it is which side is whose. Kiara and Marco basically split the room in two. They share the master bedroom since they both have to share. It's just easier and more convenient that way.

Kiara's side is overall neat and tidy; she has various bins and storage containers lining her wall and organizers on her desk for her papers. Her bed is made and she even tucks in the ends of her covers. The floor surrounding her bed is clear besides a few plastic bottles and some dust and crumbs - which made it obvious it hadn't been swept in a while.

Marco on the other hand had no top covers on his bed - they lay haphazardly on the floor. His fitted sheet is the only thing actually on his bed. The floor on his side of the room was laced with various clothing, candy wrappers, and what I assume are school papers.

They littered the area from top to bottom. And his desk - identical to Kiaras - wasn't visible through the snack wrappers, trash, and papers filling it.

I sighed in exasperation.

Sometimes I wonder how he lets it get this bad... and how come I let him.

I roll up my sleeves and ready myself for the journey. Grabbing a garbage bag I start on Kiara's side picking up the few bottles and dispensing them into the bag. I then sweep up any stray dirt on the tile floor.

I then turn my attention to Marco's side of the room.

I place all his dirty clothes into a basket and then gather up the trash. Picking up his top sheet from the floor I spread it on his bed. I then start tucking the end pieces under the matters.

As I do so my fingers come into contact with some strange material. Pulling it out I find that it's a plastic baggy and in it is a cluster of white round pills.

I drop the baggy in shock.

I refuse to believe it.

I hurriedly lift Marco's mattress and find another baggy; sealed and similarly filled with pills. With shaking fingers I delicately lift the bag. I held it away from my body like it would sting me - clasped between my pointer finger and thumb.

And in that moment I knew I wasn't mistaken. Marco was hiding things from me...

More specifically he was hiding pills underneath his bed.
