Chapter 2: At the Barn

"Woah...that sure is a LOT of pumpkins!"

Sketch gaped at the wide field of pumpkins, her personality completely switching from angry to amazed.
Blossom examined the area using her infrared vision and only found the heat signature of a Braybug, taking shelter in the barn.

"It's clear, nobody except a Braybug's here!" Blossom exclaimed.

At the sound of her words, she could see the Braybug's heat signure jump and move to an area she assumed was under a flight of stairs or a ramp.

"I'm excited, I hope it'll be good.." Lullaby said as she flew towards a pumpkin and attempted to take a bite.
"Ow!" Lullaby exclaimed as she darted away from the pumpkin. "I can't eat this!"
"Of course you can't, not like that."  Synthesis chuckled and turned to Static as Lullaby let out an annoyed groan.
"Static, demonstrate." Synthesis said to Static, who looked confused for a second then quickly after realized and went into a charge-up position.

Static then pounced on the pumpkin, unsheathing her claws and using Scratch on the pumpkin, miraculously cutting it straight in half.

"Woah!" Pollen exclaimed, her wings flapping faster in excitement.
Static wiped a drop of sweat off her forehead and smugly said "And that's how you do it."
Lullaby flew forward and took a bite out of the soft pumpkin flesh "Mmm! This is good!"

Blossom chuckled and reached into her bag, pulling out a vial filled to the brim with pollen.
She took a piece of the pumpkin, un-corked the vial and sprinkled a little bit of pollen on it.
Blossom took a bite as everyone watched confused and she looked at the group of 6.

"Don't knock it til' you try it!" Blossom exclaimed as she took another bite.

Pollen took a piece of the pumpkin and stole Blossom's vial of pollen. With a little difficulty, she managed to sprinkle some of it on the pumpkin piece and took a bite out of it.

"Hey!" Blossom said as she retrieved the vial of pollen and placed the cork back inside.
"Mmm, tangy!" Pollen exclaimed and handed a piece to Lullaby, who took a bite out of the pumpkin.
"Woaaah~ this is even better!" Lullaby said excitedly and took another bite.

The group of 7 started to eat every single pumpkin in the patch, Static getting even more tired after every time she sliced the pumpkins.
By the time they finished, the sky was a vibrant orange, and Blossom's vial of pollen was near empty.

"Uuugh..I'm so full..." Sketch groaned and laid on their back in the soft dirt.
"What time is it?" Clover squinted at the bright orange sky, which was slowly transitioning into a midnight purple.
"It's turning night, we should get going." Synthesis observed, tilting her head to the sky before turning to look at the other 6.
"Yeah..I feel like turning into my Violet form already." Blossom groaned and started to trudge back to the campsite.

After getting more wood and re-lighting the fire using her fire magic, the 7 of them settled into their respective tents. Sketch rushed into her tent on the left and curled right into her sleeping bag. Lullaby swooped into her tent, together with Pollen as Lullaby wrapped her string around the bar on top of the tent. Pollen slowly floated into her sleeping bag, which was the same size as Sketch's despite the size difference.
Synthesis and Clover entered their tent on the right, Synthesis resting in the middle of the tent as Clover laid beside her.
Finally, Blossom and Static entered their tent in the middle, Static taking her sleeping bag on the right as she started to rest.
Blossom pulled open her sleeping bag just as her form started to glow and change. As the night started to take over, she transformed into her Violet form. Blossom climbed inside, but she felt uneasy, like something bad was going to happen.
The snores of her friends and the sound of the fire crackling started to fill her mind as she dozed off...
Then she had the dream which would mark the beginning of something terrifying.
