Genshin Angst One-shots

Its getting cold - Kaebedo angst

It was a warm summers day when The knights of favonious and a few others were on their way to dupua gorge for a mission. This group consisted of Jean, Lisa, Kaeya, Albedo and Amber. Alice had grounded Klee as to why she wasn't with them. A group of adventurers had came running into the knights headquarters a few hours prior claiming there was a hilichurl camp set up in the gorge. They said that it wasn't like a normal camp, but it was multiple camps put together. "Surely it won't be that bad?" Amber said skipping along the dirt path.

"Well we never know Amber it could be," Jean replied. She walked along the path holding her girlfriend, Lisa's, hand whilst swinging their hands between them. Amber strode in front of them with a grin across her face finally happy to be able to help out on a commission like this. Ahead of the three Albedo and Kaeya walked next to each other hand in hand.

"Do you think those adventures were making things up?" Albedo asked his tall lover with a curious expression. Kaeya looked down at the blonde and chuckled slightly.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they're making things up." He replied and Albedo chuckled aswell. The five stopped in the middle of the path when they had reached the area the adventurers had told them about. As they looked around in confusion not a hilichurl could be seen. Everything was quiet, nothing unusual about the area.

"Lisa look out!" Jean called out as she pushed her girlfriend out of the way of an attacking hilichurl. Kaeya froze it and Albedo slashed it in half with his sword. "Are you okay?" The blonde asked as she helped Lisa get back on her feet.

"Yeah I'll be fine," she replied with a smiled whilst patting her clothes down.

"Stay aware. There could be more." Kaeya stated, his sword in hand prepared to fight. Albedo stood next to him in the same stance. Everyone's facial expression changed to a serious one as Jean and Amber took out their weapons and Lisa summoned her catalyst. A few more hilichurls jumped out at them but this time they were prepared.

The sounds of swords hitting, arrows being fired and electricity zapping around could be heard as the five battled an endless amount of hilichurls. Whilst Amber and Lisa took care of the hilichurl shooters, Albedo, Kaeya and Jean took care of the normal hilichurls, samachurls and lawachurls. As the final few were killed everyone bent over breathing heavily out of exhaustion. "Is everyone okay?" Jean managed to ask through unsteady breathing. Her question was followed by replies of 'yup I'll be fine', 'perfectly fine' and 'just a scratch or two but I'm good.' "Okay I've sent for Barbara to come and heal any wounds yous may have, minor or not." She said before realising everyone replied except the captain. Kaeya what about you?" She asked as the rest of the group turned around to look at the bluenette. Their eyes widened in horror. Kaeya was knelt down on the ground with the end of a samachurl's spear through his body. Albedo slashed the samachurl and bent down infront of his liver, wide eyed and full of fear. He wrapped his arms around his lovers body as he fell forward into his embrace.

"Ha...that hurt." Kaeya said with a wince. Albedo pulled back slightly only to see the the spear had went straight through his heart. Tears began to pour out of his eyes as he looked up in horror to his lover. He was dying. Tears threatened to spill from the other 3's eyes as Amber covered her mouth is shock and Lisa gripped onto Jean's arm.  Kaeya simply gave the blonde a slight smile, not even covering up how much pain he was in no matter how hard the tried. Albedo's body physically shook with fear and sadness as he wrapped his arms around Kaeya's shoulders. 

"Wow Albedo, I never thought you were the clingy kind." Kaeya chuckled to himself before wincing in pain again. He wrapped his arms weakly around his lover who was now sobbing violently on his shoulder. "Isn't this nice," he said with a saddened smile. At this point Lisa, Jean and Amber were all sobbing as well. Lisa's face burried on Jean's shoulder as Amber was attached to the blonde's side. "If only this could last forever." He whispered. Albedo pulled back, still having a hold on his lovers limp body.

"Kaeya...please don't leave me." He sobbed as he stared into the sapphire eyes of his dying lover.

"I'm sorry 'bedo," he said with a pained smile whilst placing a hand on his cheek and rubbing circles on it with his thumb. Albedo placed his own hand on top and leant into the touch.

"Please Kaeya...I can't do this without you," he said Theough strangled sobs.

"Yes you can." Kaeya said and Albedo shook his head. "You know why? Because your the strongest person I know." He continued with a smile. This only made Albedo cry more.

"Jean how much longer till Barbara's here?" Lisa cried into her girlfriend's shoulder. Jean simply sobbed knowing her sister wouldn't be here in time to save the captain from death.

"No I'm not," Albedo whispered barely being able to talk due to crying so much.

"Yes you are," kaeya stated with a proud smile on his face. "You just need to believe in yourself." He said with a smile. Albedo attempted to nod and smile through the pain of watching his lover die in his arms. Kaeya body fell forward and his head was now rested on Albedo's shoulder. "It's getting cold 'bedo," he said with a slight chuckle. Albedo almost screamed out because of how much pain he was in.

"No it's not Kaeya," he managed to choke out between sobs. "Look it's all warm and sunny. Your going to be okay."  He said with an attempted grin.

"No I'm not 'bedo..." he replied quietly. Kaeya had accepted he was going to die, Albedo was just trying to convince himself that he wouldn't lose the love of his life. "I feel tired," he said as his eyes slowly started to shut.

"Don't you dare close your eyes on me Kaeya," Albedo said looking at his lover. The captain eyes closed as he took in his final breaths.

"I love you 'bedo," was the last things he whispered before his heart stopped beating.

"No...no.." Albedo whispered to himself. "No! Kaeya!" He screamed out. He pulled his body closer to him as he screamed and cried out in pain. He would never get to see those beautiful blue eyes shine again. He would never get to hear Kaeya say 'good morning love' in his raspy morning voice ever again. He would never get to see him again. He was gone, his world was gone. As Albedo screamed and cried out Jean, Lisa and Amber sobbed even harder knowing that their friend was gone, never to live again.
