Iris was born first, a beautiful baby weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces. Jasmine came next, 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Their mama was crying with joy, rubbing their mother on the back. The latter, Christine, was panting, shaking, but grinning with triumph over the beautiful babies she had just created. Their mama, Lin, kissed her wife.
Lin held Iris, and Christine held Jasmine. They had named the girls in the womb, naming one for Lin's Chinese heritage, and the other for Christine's late mother.
The two girls slept soundly in their mothers' arms. Identical in every way.
