Cassie went to her first period, Ms. Hale's class. When she got there, she noticed her ninja friends at a table with one empty seat. They waved her over.

At another table Daphne was sitting by herself, glaring at Cassie.

Cassie sat down next to Kai.

Zachary, a football player, ran up to Kai. "It's Friday! We got a game tonight!"

"Cassie, will you be able to come?" Kai asked.

"Yeah!" Cassie smiled. "I don't have play practice on Fridays!"

"We are doing a group project for the next week!" Ms. Hale announced. "It's on the ninja! We're planning to ask them if they can come in for an interview on Monday!"

Cassie's mouth fell open. She had to do a project on herself. This was going to be so easy.

"You have to do a slide presentation. You need a title slide, a sources slide, and a slide for each of the ninja. The fire ninja, the ice ninja, the green ninja, the Earth ninja, the water ninja, and the purple ninja," Ms. Hale continued. "Each slide must include when they first became a ninja, their power, their color, the first villian they defeated, and a few other things that I included in the rubric. If we can't get the ninja to do an interview, then you'll have to Google information."

After class, the ninja met up in the hallways. Kai explains the assignment to Lloyd. "So, should we do the interview?" Kai asked.

"Don't you think they'll find it suspicious that we're all going to be out the same day the ninja are in?" Lloyd asked.

"They don't find it suspicious that we all raise our hands and ask to go to the bathroom all at the same time as soon as an attack happens," Cassie reminded him. "I think we'll be fine. The question isn't if we can do it, it's if we actually want to do it."

Lloyd thought. "I guess there is no harm. As long as we don't have to tell anyone our secret identities or anything."

"We won't. The teacher specifically said that wasn't in the requirements," Jay told him.

Nya smiled. "I think we should do it. Anything to get out of geometry."

Nya, Jay, and Cole were all in geometry, but Lloyd, Cassie, Zane, and Kai were in algebra two, since they were advanced. Daphne was also in their algebra two class.

Kai smiled. "We're going up against our ultimate rivals tonight. The wolves and the ninjas have been super hostile, and I can't wait to beat the shit out of them." The ninjas were out school mascot, in honor of, well, us. Our enemies, and long time rivals, were the wolves. One person who went to that school was Morro.

"I know you can do it!" Cassie cheered.

The bell ringed and Cassie and Kai started heading towards gym, which was their second period.

It was already lunch somehow.

Cassie looked between her friend groups. At one table was Daphne, Lila, Chloe, Jessica, and Faith. They were all glaring at her. Daphne whispered something to Lila. Lila whispered it to Chloe, who passed it to Jessica, who finally gave the information to Faith. Cassie normally sat with them, but today she decided to sit with her other friends.

"Did you hear the rumor?" Jay asked as Cassie sat down.

"What rumor?" Cassie asked.

"Someone said that you went around sleeping with all of the cheerleaders boyfriends," Nya said.

Cassie's mouth fell open. "What?!"

"I mean, I bet most of them would sleep with you. You are literally perfect," Nya said. "But you would never do that."

"Who started this rumor?" Kai asked.

"I heard it from Jessica," Cole muttered.

"I heard it from Faith," Jay said.

"I thought Chloe started it," Nya said.

"I could've sworn it was Lila," Lloyd said.

"I heard the rumor from Daphne," Zane said.

Cassie stood up.

"Where are you going?" Kai asked.

Cassie stormed over to her ex-friends. "Which one of you mother fuckers ruined my reputation?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Daphne smirked at Cassie.

Cassie had to use all of her self control not to slap that bitch right there. "Daphne, I was a bad friend. I should've called or texted. I understand that now. I understand that since I was a bad friend, you don't want to be friends with me anymore. I'm not even mad at that. I'm mad that you are spreading lies about me!" As she talked, her voice got progressively louder. Soon, the whole cafeteria was staring at her.

Daphne stood up and slammed her hands on the table. "You weren't just a bad friend. You were a shit friend. I went on vacation for five days and you didn't reach out once-"

"Neither did you!" Cassie pointed out.

"You paired with Nya on the art project instead of me!"

"That was a fucking year ago! Let it go!"

"You didn't pair with me on the project in Ms. Hale's class!"

"We haven't chosen our groups yet! How the fuck would you know if I wanted to be in your group or not?"

"You fucking bitch!"

Cassie raised her hand to slap Daphne, but Kai grabbed it. "Calm the hell down!"

Zane helped Kai pulled Cassie away. Cassie tried wiggling out. She would've done it if Cole, Jay, and Lloyd hadn't started helping to keep her still.

Cassie suddenly woke up. She was sleeping. It was all a dream. She was in her algebra two class sitting next to Kai.

"Your heart is beating, like, a million miles an hour. I can hear it. Did you have a nightmare?" Kai whispered.

"Kind of," Cassie admitted. She remembered that after she and Kai left gym they headed to third period, algebra two. Which meant that Daphne hadn't spread any rumors about her. It was a a dream and her reputation wasn't ruined.

"I can't believe that you fell asleep in class, Ms. Perfect," Kai said quietly.

Cassie was struggling with sleep right now. It was hard to sleep when your parents were screaming about who got which car, who got the child, who got the house, how the other was a fucking cheater, ect. The only time she could sleep peacefully was when she was away from her family.

But that was okay. She was Cassidy Lockhart, she could handle anything.
