Zach found himself sitting beside you once inside the plane. You immediately noticed his presence. Despite remaining a neutral face, Zach could see that there was a hint of annoyance laced upon your features.

"Where's Gray?" You asked immediately. Your eyes began searching for him.

"Behind us," Zach answered. He tilted his head back, gesturing you to Gray's location. You turned back and then peeked through the space in-between the chairs. There you saw Gray sitting next to an older woman.

"I'm sorry," Gray apologized, "Zach got to the seat before I could."

"It's fine." You sighed, trying to contain your devastation. "We can still have our dino discussion after we land."

Gray nodded as you faced forward. Zach was still staring at you.

"What?" You asked him.

"Nothing, it's just--" Zach paused, trying to think of something to say. "Why are you heading to Jurassic World anyways?"

"For dinosaurs, obviously." You stated simply with a shrug.

"Is that it?" He asked.

"Shockingly, yes." You responded. There was a hint of sarcasm in your tone. "You wouldn't go to a Zoo if there aren't any animals in there."

"That's true." Zach agreed with a nod. "But, I thought that you might be meeting up with someone."

"Nope." You answered, adjusting yourself to be more comfortable. "I'm here by myself."

"Oh," Zach said. There was nothing more he could say.

"Are you meeting up with anyone?" You questioned.

"We're going too see our aunt," Gray answered behind you. "She works at Jurassic World. We're gonna spend time with her!"

The mere mention of his aunt caused Zach to roll his eyes. It's been a while since he'd last seen her. His parents thought that they should reconnect. However, Zach didn't want to. He didn't think it was a good idea either.

"That's nice." You noted, smiling a little. "It's always nice to see family."

"We haven't seen her in a while." Zach added, "She probably doesn't care."

"Is that what you think?" You questioned him.

"I don't think, I know," Zach replied. He seemed very sure of himself.

"Who knows," You shrugged, "Maybe, things might be different. Maybe, she might care this time."

"I doubt it." Zach shook his head in dismay. "But, I'll let you prove me wrong."

Every so often Zach would glance at you. He was lucky that you were preoccupied. Otherwise, he would get caught. It's not like it was illegal to look, but he didn't want you to think he was weird. He noticed that you were staring out the window. Your expression showed anticipation and excitement upon arriving at Jurassic World. Somehow, something sparked inside of him.

He couldn't believe this was happening.

He was getting an art inspiration.

Ever since Zach was a kid, he use to love drawing. Before Gray was even born, he'd draw anything he'd see. This included bugs, flowers, his parents and his favorite fictional characters. Over time he improved his art style. He even aspired to be a great artist one day.

However, that was a long time ago.

As Zach grew older, the other kids would pick on him. He tried to ignore them but it was hard, especially at a young age. Things got more difficult at art school. The teacher had told him to follow the rules, but Zach was not one to do that. She eventually got angry and then expelled him. The last thing she said really hit him hard.

"You're a horrible student and a terrible artist!"

Ever since that day, he stopped drawing.

Until now.

For some reason, he got out a new sketchbook. Apparently, it was in his bag. How it got there was beyond him. However, he decided to use it. He got out a pencil and then began sketching you. When the sketch was finished, he went on to shading the parts of your body that the sun had casted down upon you.

Unintentionally, you'd become the model and the inspiration for his art piece. Something about you was special and Zach didn't want to pass that opportunity up. When he was done, he stared at the portrait. He couldn't help but feel a little proud of his work. It looked exactly like you. Zach was also surprised. He thought that his art skills had vanished.

Maybe, just maybe, he could show you this, but he wasn't sure what your reaction would be. In the end, Zach decided to put his artwork away.

A/N: In my original Zach x Reader fic I had Zach want to become an artist and also be really good at drawing. I just figured I'd give him a hobby since he didn't seem to have one.
