The following day Jenna, the red and white husky, sits at a hospital beside her owner Rosie. The young husky whimpers continually as she feels that her girl won't get better. Outside, Balto looks at a puddle fixed with his fur sticking up at his head when a sudden white shape is beside him. He jumps and stares in shock as the wolf from yesterday smiles down at him "why hello, Balto," she says and lowers her head, staring over Bilbo.

Bilbo gets subconsciously in her fiery gaze and looks away. A snort of amusement emits from the white wolf, and she lifts Balto's head with her front paw. "Don't worry, wolf friend," she says and sets her foot down, looking at Balto fondly. "That husky thinks you are ... well handsome then as you are," she says and dips her head before vanishing. Her voice hangs in the air, "he who you are, Balto" soon, it disappears as Jenna comes out of the hospital and climbs upon a mound outside the window.

Balto sighs and straightens himself looking more acceptable as he can. He then walks toward Jenna, unaware of those eyes watching him. The Ghost smiles dorm her spot and sits down. "Jenna...? Ahem...Jenna." He tries, and then she-dog turns briefly, looking at him, nodding, "Balto...hi." Balto smiles at her, but she turns away to the wud ow again, and he takes his chance. "Hi... Look, uh, just a shot in the dark, but I wondered if uhh...I dunno, maybe you'd like to...go chase a few sticks by moonlight...ahh.." batlo says but cuts himself off as he sees Jenna being too occupied sharing into the window. He glances over at Ghost, whose eyes meet him in the dark. They are warm, and he sees the shape of her furry head nod, and a glinting shows. He drew a breath as he realized that it was her teeth. he then shakes his head and turns back to Jenna. "...Jenna?" he asks, then walks up to the same mound as the she-dog and looks through the window with her.

"Rosie's in there," Jenna explains, and the wolf-dog frowns. "In the hospital, why?" Jenna sighs. "She feels warm and has a terrible cough..." Jenna then looks at Balto. "Balto, what's wrong with her?" he grows a little uncounterable wanting to answer. he sighs and says, ": Huh...I'm not sure...but I know how to find out." he says and goes away from the windowsill. "Come on." Jenna follows him, and they come to a rickety old door. ".I have the keys to the city," he says and then opens the door with his paws and gestures with his feet. "After you." Jenna looks at his pawas, then back at him "...Balto." she mutters, and the wolf-dog chuckles nervously. ".Big paws kinda run in my family." he says, and Jenna waløks inside the room, reading it to be the boiler room. Suddenly a shape presence enters the room, and baltic looks saw Ghost.

Balto frowns but is happy that his friend... if he can call her, a friend is with them. "come on, wofl friend," Ghost says and nudges Balto gently before going up to Jenna, who looks in awe at the wolf. "hello, my name is Ghost. You must be Jenna" the red and white husky snaps out of her reverie and looks down embed. "uh yes, ia m" Ghost smiles "well, an honor to meet you, little husky. come let's go," she says sand Balto steps up behind Jenna who looks at him questingly. "uh.. she's a friend. I met her yesterday," he explains, and Jenna narrows her eyes but shrugs it off.

"It's so gloomy down here...Heh, not that I'm scared or anything," Jenna says, quickly covering it up with a chuckle. The ghost smiles and nudges her. "Gloomy?" She asked, flicking her tail at the spider web. "You kidding? It's the most beautiful spot in the world! Dogs travel for years to be right here." Balto exclaims, and both Ghost and Jenna look at each other, raising their eyebrows.

"Here? I can't see why." Jenna says. "I can, my dear friend," Ghost muses and presses her shoulder against Balto, who looks up at her. "Let's show her," she whispered and walked towards some broken shards of glass. "See this?" She asks, and Jenna looks at the wolf, then Balto, who nods, smiling fondly.

Balto then comes to Ghost and rattles on the glass, saying, "It's the polar ice caps." Ghost sits down as Jenna comes up to the bottles frowning, " Balto...those are broken bottles. And they're not half empty; they're all empty." She says, and Ghost sighs, rolling her eyes, "wait and see, young one" Balto steps out of the way, and the light reflects off the bottles and illuminates the wall with brilliantly colored lights.

The white wolf smiles as her blue eyes reflect these lights. Balto sees this and gets speechless. "The Northern Lights!" His attention gets snapped to Jenna, and he smiles. His smile then fades. The thought of seeing Ghost smiling just like Jenna and the northern lights in her eyes makes him smile. He sighs and glances back at her seeing her laying down with her head up and fluffy tail curlier aorund her like a blanket. Her eyes are alight. Why am I feeling my heart beating so fast? The wolfhound thinks, looking back at Jenna, who has heard something over them.

Suddenly Ghost stands, making Balto look at her. Over them, the lamp lights, and they hear the humans talk, " Good night, Rosie." The familiar voice of the doctor says, "I'm so cold..." the said girl whimpers, and the doctor sighs, "I'm gonna have another blanket for you right here; you stay warm and get some rest." He says and walks away to the parents of Rosie, making Ghost, Balto, and Jenna follow underneath. "Doctor? How is she?" The father asks, and the doctor shakes his head sadly. "Exhausted from coughing, and her fever's getting worse."

Ghost sighs, making Jenna and Balto look at her, worried. "I'm fine," she whispers and nudges the red and white husky with her hip. Jenna looks at Ghost, who smiles in pity. They all know that Rosie will not make it if they don't get the medics somehow.

But how? Ghost thinks and sighs, looking at Balto, then Jenna seeing them close. She smiled. Two love birds through all this. Life has its ways.
