(Image that is Ghost, but she has blue eyes and white fur)

THE NEXT DAY was bright and welcoming for Balto. He yawned, smiling as a particular white wolf caught his golden-brown eyes. Time to tell her, he thought and stretched out his sore muscles. Boris was somewhere near the water with the two ice bears, so the wolf dog was free to do whatever he wanted. He jumped onto the boat's railing and then down to the melting snow. "Ghost!" He called as he ran over to her where she lay in the sun.

"Good morning Balto," she said, raising her paws. Balto smiled at her laying down beside her and rubbing his nose against her chin. "Want to hang out today?" He asked and pulled away. Ghost smiled and stood up, nudging Balto to do the same. "Sure, let's run around town," she suggested, and Balto nodded, getting up. They then ran towards town. As they ran, they met Jenna. "Oh hey, ghost and Balto," Jenna said, smiling at her friends.

The two wolves nodded, smiling at the red husky. "So you're out for a run?" She then said, sitting down. Ghost nodded and twirled aorund playfully "yes," Balto confirmed and nudged Jenna lightly. "Come with us," the wolf dog offered. Jenna shook her head "no, I'm sorry, but I can't. I'm supposed to meet my girl Now" she then looked at the sky and paled a little, "oh, I gotta go!" She says and takes off, leaving the two wolves. "Well, her loss," Ghost says and shrugs.

She then takes off with the wolf-dog to follow her.

"So, have you chosen yet?" Ghost asked as she and Balto looked at the sunset from their place in the ark. Balto looked at his friend, a blush rising on his cheeks as he understood what she meant. Better play like I don't, he thought and looked away from the wolf "chosen what?" Ghost sighed and intertwined their tails, making Balto blush even more. "You know, choosing between Jenna or me. I mean, I don't want you to be in such a position, but you have to do that soon. You like us both, don't you?" She said, laying down.

How does she know? Has anyone told her? His thoughts raged, fear festering in his heart. Ghost sighed and nudged him, gently standing up "well, anyway, it doesn't matter to me. Choose your heart, and it will lead you. Good night, wolf friend," and then she was gone with the wind of the spring. Balto huffed a sigh and laid his head on his paws, looking at the sun as it wandered down to rest. Who indeed? Jenna was my crush dorm the day I met her, but Ghost has helped me way more. She was there for me when Steele tried to kill me. She chose me instead of him even though I'm a half-wolf. His thoughts drifted on as he soon fell asleep.

I hope when I choose one of them it'll be the right one. Further away with Ghost, she laid down in her cave right outside the borders of Nome. She huffed and laid her head onto her paws and curled her tail aorund her. I hope Balto chooses the right one. She thought, starting to drift off to sleep. Suddenly a presence she felt, and she opened her eyes, seeing a familiar face. "Ainu?" She said, tilting her head at the older wolf.

Ainu smiled and stepped inside "hello, my dear," she said and walked over to Ghost rubbing their noses together in a mother-daughter love. "You love my son, don't you?" She asked suddenly as she sat down beside her fellow wolf. Ghost sighed and looked at her paws. "I don't know, Ainu. I think I do. And if I do, I can't tell him. I know he's going to choose Jenna. I hope she'll be good for him" "how can you be so sure he'll choose her? You've helped him Way more. You've been there for him when he needed it. Don't doubt yourself, my dear." Ainu said, nudging Ghost before standing up.

"Well, I wish you a good night," she said, fading with a wind gust. Don't doubt yourself. Ghost echoed in her thought, and she laid her head down. I can try. With that thought, she drifted off to sleep.

Steele didn't think he would find her. He didn't know he would dare to try. After she had turned her back and the other dogs did too, Steele's popularity went down like a building falling. The other dogs had shunned him, and even his owner had been more disappointed in him. However, he did care for the Alaskan husky since he was, after all, his dog. Steele sighed heavily as he laid his blue eyes upon the white fur ball. The time you become mine, his thoughts purred, and a smirk played on his lips.

He softly padded over to the wolf lying down and laid his head on hers. The wolf stirred in her sleep but didn't wake. Steele yawned and soon fell asleep. He dreamt about how his life would be if that blasted half-breed didn't come by and if Ghost had chosen him. Ghost didn't precisely select any of them, but Steele knew that she would select Balto. But if he got her far away from the village, maybe she would see only him.

He sighed in his sleep, unaware of the rising sun. And the grey figure tracking after his love. His white wolf. Balto soon found Ghost's cave but stopped as he saw a shape lying aorund Ghost. One scent in the air told him that it was the dog he feared and hated. Steele. Balto sighed before a loud growl ripped out of him, waking the Alaskan and the wolf. "Huh?" Ghost mumbled. Steele smiled down at her and nudged hers gently. "Stay down, darling. I'll take care of the creature," he said, standing up and turning aorund to face a growling wolf dog.

His cold blue eyes widened upon seeing his enemy. "Oh, hey Balto. What are you doing here?" Steele snarled as he dipped his head in an attack position. Balto mirrored him, "you came in unannounced in the wolfs home. I thought Ghost told you that you should never tread upon another's territory" by this time, Ghost was fully awake and stood up, turning aorund seeing to bristling males. She rolled her eyes and let out a long growl. Steele and Balto turned their attention to the female they fought for "oh darling, you're awake," Steele purred and stepped towards the wolf.

Ghost rolled her eyes and straightened herself, looking taller and bigger "what are you doing here?" She hissed, looking down at Steele like he was something of fur and unimportant for the great wolf. Steele snickers gently as he walks aorund her flicking his tail across her chest as he doesn't reach her snout. "I'm here to see you, my darling. Aks me not if the half breed" at the word of Balto Steele visible growled and rolled his hatches. "So," he turned towards Balto, who was again in a golf mess, "go on half breed, leave my mate and me alone," Ghost snorted.

"Your mate?" She hissed in disbelief. "Oh wow, what happened to you, Steele? I thought that making or allowing your friends and so-called followers to go with me and see Balto as the true hero would change you for the better. Guess you were.... Wrong" Ghost suddenly bared her teeth, raising her hackles. Balto looked on with wide eyes as the wolf circled the dog. "I give you one more chance. Take off running like the dog you are to your owner or getaway. I won't be smiling to a dog ever again" her voice was cold and harsh; Balto had never heard her like that.

The ordinarily mild-headed wolf was snarling like a beast. Her whole body showed signs of hate and anger. "But... but I've changed, my darling!" Steele exclaimed, pleading now. He was so attracted to the wolf he couldn't get her out of his head. It was her he wanted. She he wanted as a mate and have pups with. But she didn't understand. She was blinded ..... blinded by that blasted half breeds. Steele growled and turned to Balto, looking at this in awe. "What are you staring at, the half, breed!?" Steele shouted and pounced toward the wolf-dog.

But even before the Alaskan could latch his teeth on Balto, a force knocked him down, and he fell onto the melting ice. "Leave now, Steele, and never come back!" It was Ghost. She had jumped in front of Balto just in time and used her tail to push Steele. "Go," she warned one last time, her tail lashing from side to side in anger. Steele saw the look in her eyes, and instinct took over. And he bolted.
