"Jenna...Jenna, I'm sorry! Jenna, I – " Balto says as he and Ghost follow Jenna out to the boiler room. " I didn't mean to upset you; I shouldn't take you down there," Balto says, Ghost lays a paw on his shoulder, and Jenna shakes her head. "No...I'm glad you did." Suddenly Ghost springs up as a sound of rambling pierces the air, and the three look to see Steele under a pile of planks and a long link of sauces in his mouth. Where on earth did he get those?! Ghost thoughts as she gets in defense position.

"Steele..." Jenna says, clearly confused. Ghost suddenly walks in front of them, growling. " Ahem...Well, well. What's wrong with this picture? " Steele says as he smirks at the wolf who's growling still. He suddenly slings the sages around her neck, and she rears her head back in disgust. Balto and Jenna growl " Alright, Steele..." Balto growls, annoyed and Jenna rolls her eyes. "No, Balto," Ghost says, smirking and putting on her flirty side. She is more significant than Steele, though, but he looks up at her with lust as she swipes her tail under his nose.

"Nothing's wrong pretty boy. Only... I think you're not supposed to be here," she says, and suddenly her facade falls, and she almost touches her nose with Steele pressing him against the heater. Steele smirks but then feels pain and the searing comes as well as the smoke. Balto and Jenna are already at the door. Balto stops as Steele jolts in pain, and Ghost leaps out after the two of them. "Let's go!" She calls, and Tito takes to the sprint, but Steele makes it out and pins the large wolf Beat.ly.

"Ghost!" Balto called and tried to get back, but Jenna grabbed him and yelled, "no! We have to get away now! She'll be alright" Balto sighs and perks up as the sound of voices sounds. Steele looks at the sound, and so does Ghost. Humans. Ghost thoughts and snarls violently at Steele, startling him and making him fall off as she takes offs. Steele looks at Harley around, then gets an idea and throws the link of meat after the beautiful wolf capturing her. Balto and Jenna are long gone.

Ghost growls as she hits the grounds, and the beam of light lands on her shaking her pure white fur and glimmering blue eye. The humans' gaps tracked themselves to be Rosie's father, and the butchers "irs her. The Ghost!" The butcher yelled and crouched down, gently taking off the link of sauces. Steele breathes a sigh of relief but then tends again, afraid that Ghost will get scolded. "Go on," Rose's father says and gives the sauces to Steele, who eats them with no emotions.

Ghost looks at the humans, then Steele, and runs off into the night.

"I'm sorry I didn't come to your aid," Balto whimpered as Ghost walked up to him and laid down in front of him. She huffs and lays her head on her front paws " no need Balto. I've forgiven you already, for there was nothing to forgive," she says and smiles at Balto before lifting her snout. She sniffs and smiles. "What?" Balto aks looking curiously at Ghost. "Wolves," she answers and howls into the night, making Balto look at her in wonder. Her howl wakes some of the humans in the town, but they don't care.

She's done that before. Steele wakes up from his slumber and listens to the song of the white wolf. He smiles and lays his head again down on his paws. One day you'll be mine, Ghost.

It had gone days now since that incident with Steele, and Ghost keeps to the wilderness the most, but she's always with Balto if something should go wrong. Jenna and her friends watch as Steele walks by his sled dogs one by one. Little Dixie is infuriated with the male. "Look at him. He's going to save the entire town! He's positively mag-nesium!" Beside her, Jenna sighs and rolls her eyes. "It's not exactly a one-dog show, Dixie. They're racing to see who will be on the dog sled team." She says. Dixie rolls her eyes and growls out, "What's with you, Jenna? Steele's a genuine hero! But do you give him a sniff?"

Sylvie comes up to them and nods. "That's because Jenna is running with Boalto!" She said, and the little Pomeranian gasped, looking at Jenna for answers. "She was seen in the boiler room the other night with Boalto – and they went in together, and they left together. And I heard it all from a very reliable source, so don't even bother to deny it!" The pretty dog says and lifts her chin. " Well...then I won't." She spoke, and her tail twitched as she saw something in her eyes. Two fiery blue eyes glinting in the shadows then disappears. Ghost. Jenna thinks.

Should I tell you that the ghost wolf was there with us too? Steele would probably, but if so, why hadn't he done it yet? Ghost is a popular wolf aorund here—both for her ... beauty and her ability to sneak aorund unnoticed. Steele would be proud of sharing his experience with her... wouldn't he? Jenna's thoughts get cut off by the annconwr calling out, " All mushers! Get your dogs ready! The race is about to begin!" On a fence not far off, Balto and his friend, the goose Boris, are feeling, as usual, a little uneasy with what's on the young hybrid's mind.

"Whoa...Balto – racing is a spectator's sport. It requires little preparation – " he says, but vets cut off by falling. The neck feathers suddenly catch him, and he slowly turns his head, so good he can see who his savior is. Balto hears that his friend has stopped complaining and gets a little worried, so he turns his head, and his golden-brown eyes widen as he sees Ghost standing there with Boris in her mouth. The wolf doesn't do anything to the goose, only sets him onto the windowsill, who's closest to the fence and Balto.

She then steps away and smiles at Balto. "Good luck," she says and vanishes. "Ugh, what's with that wolf and vanish all the time!?" Boris complains, and Balto smiles, shaking his head. He then turns his attention back to the race, seeing that the race is about to begin. "I'm not watching the race...I'm running it." He says, and Boris's eyes widen, " ...YOU SAID WHAT?!" He yells. Balto smiles and balances accessible on the fence thanks to his four paws. " Hey, look! I'm going to make Rosie get better!! I can get that medicine through." He says, and Boris rolls his eyes and says, "First of all, get it through your head  that they would put you in a sled team even if you did win, which won't happen, and if it did, it wouldn't matter!" He says.

Balto looks at his friend, smirking " Boris! ...You ever think maybe you're the reason the other geese fly south?" The goose is unmoved by the hybrid's quick reply and says, in monotony, "if only your feet were as fast as your mouth."

The anncoer then blows a whistle, and Balto beams, "Hey...they're starting!" He says and then jumps off the broken fence. "Wish me luck!" He calls and runs off to the start line. Boris is now left alone and yells after his adoptive son. "Luck? I don't wish you luck! I WISH YOU SENSE! ...good luck, kiddo."

Balto reaches the finish line and goes between Nikki and Kaltag. "Balto! What're you, nuts? If Steele catches you around here, he will turn you into kibble!" Kaltag says, but his friend is careless. "Let us let the Half Dog run – it will be fun making him eat our snow..." he says. From the sidelines, in the shadows, a particular wolf watches with gleaming blue eyes and a smile. Her tail is wagging gently, showing her existence. "Good luck Balto" she whispers.

"Get set..." and the race starts.
