chapter 2

Y/N's POV

A sigh left me before I decided to knock on the window, deciding it was no use to just stand there watching as I was probably not gonna be able to see Eleven if I kept quiet now.

The 3 boys and Eleven seemed to jump out of their skin.

"Jesus!" the curly haired one shouted.

"Who are you?!" the black haired boy screeched out.

"Can I have my sister back?" I asked.

"Y-yeah, take your mental sister back." the dark-skinned boy said and I raised an eyebrow.

"Excuse me? What did you say, dipshit? Mental?" I asked and saw him back away.

A few more yells followed before I saw Eleven walk over to the window "Nine?" she asked quietly and I nodded.

"Yeah, it's me. Now... Uh, may you guys let me in? It's not that comfortable out here, you know?" I asked as my whole body hurt from all the running I had done and from overusing my powers all day.

"Wait, El, you know her?" the black haired boy who was with Eleven earlier asked and she nodded.

"Nine... Is... Good." Eleven said and I nodded, leaning against the window.

"Are you sure we can trust-" he continued.

"Oh my fucking goodness, open the stupid window!" I said and when he finally opened it, I went in, an annoyed groan leaving me "Took you long enough." I mumbled.

Then my attention shifted over to Eleven "Are you alright?" I asked and when she nodded I smiled a bit before I looked at the 3 boys.
"My name's Y/N, nice to meet you all." I said.

"I'm Mike." the black haired one said and I nodded.

"I'm Dustin." the curly haired one replied and then the one with darker skin spoke "Lucas." he said shortly, obviously still suspicious.

"Are you being followed by those bad men too?" Mike asked and I looked over "Yeah, you could say that." I replied when I realized what he was talking about.

"Great so now we are in even more danger!" Lucas groaned "Let's just tell your mom, she's gonna know who to tell."

"Absolutely not." I said and when he went to open the door, I locked it, smirking at his surprise "Your friend." I pointed at the picture "I know where he is." I said and saw all of them look at me.

"You know where Will is?" Mike asked quietly and I nodded "Yes, but... It's complicated to explain. He's... Can we talk somewhere where there is no possibility of someone overhearing?" I asked.

When Mike nodded, we all followed after him down to a basement, locking the door as we all sat down.

I took a game board and pointed at it "You see this? This is our world." I said and flipped it over "And this is the other world. The other side. That's where he is." I added and when I saw the panic on their faces, I sighed "He's not dead, morons."

"So if he isn't dead, then what? What do you mean the underworld?" Mike asked.

I looked up at them "If you want the truth, you must be prepared to be in danger at some point." I said and saw them hesitate before nodding.

"You know Hawkins Lab, don't you?" I asked, a few nods following "That lab runs researches on kids like us. Kids who have abilities, they train us to control them, but a portal opened that's what's important. Between our world and the other world. In this world, there aren't meant to be any humans, but Will ended up there. My guess is, he got taken during an attack of one of the escaped monsters..." I continued.

"Whoa, whoa, wait up. You mean to tell us, that... You know, this other world, has these monsters? What do they do?" Lucas asked slowly and I looked up, a slightly frightening look in my eyes as I replied "They kill." I said and saw their eyes widen.

"But. Will doesn't have to die. If we get to the portal. But the problem is. The only portal we know of is in Hawkins Lab. And we did everything possible to escape that place, so going back would just be... Bullshit." I said and sighed, looking at them.

"So how are meant to get Will out?" Dustin asked.

"We have to figure it out at some point. But for now. Let's let El and Y/N to rest up. Uhm. Y/N, if it's okay with you, El stays here in my basement, perhaps it would be safer for you to stay here as well?" Mike asked quietly and I stared at him "Yeah, it's fine, as long as we don't have to sleep on the ground in an isolated room, we're totally fine." I said and smiled at his confusion, laying down on the couch as the boys headed up to have dinner.

I fell asleep, so I didn't realize El left and was wandering around, but I didn't quite sleep either.

Instead, I was back in the Upside Down.

"Nancy! Hello!" a scream followed and then I got vision of a girl who looked a few years older and a demogorgon.

The monster grabbed onto her and more grunts and screams followed.

We were inside of a pool.

The girl tried to climb up and just as she was about to get back up, the demogorgon grabbed her again a shriek following.

"Nancy!"

I opened my eyes, sitting up and panting heavily, shaking as I was trying to figure out what just happened, not noticing the conversation the others were having or that they were there in general until I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey. Hey. Y/N? Hello? Hey!" Mike's voice grew louder and it snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Do you know a Nancy?" I asked quickly as I caught my breath, my nose bleeding.

"Nancy? My sister's name is Nancy. Why?" Mike questioned.

"I was... In the other world again... There was this girl... She had glasses, a denim outfit, short hair and she was crying out for a girl named Nancy and then... She got killed. Does your sister have any friend that sounds like that?" I asked and saw him shrug.

"How would I know all my sister's friends?" he asked and I sighed quietly "Nevermind. Just hope what I saw was nothing important." I said and saw them nod in confision.

"Alright, we should probably go back upstairs so mom doesn't come in here. There are, uh, blankets over there if you need any and I'll bring you two breakfast in the morning." Mike said and ran up the stairs with the other two.

I hummed and then looked at El.
"Let's get some sleep, yeah?" I asked and when she nodded, I turned the lights off and grabbed a blanket, covering myself with it and almost immediately falling asleep from the exhaustion despite it storming outside.
