It turns out the guy I had run into on the street was named Zach. Once we had started talking, it began to rain and we ran into a coffee shop close by.

The "date" seemed to be going great I was learning a lot about Zach (he loved baseball but had to stop playing because his dad put too much pressure on him, his mom died when he was 9, he lived with his older brother because him and his dad didn't get along). Zach was so interesting and actually had a lot in common with me. We talked for a few hours and bonded over everything. We agreed to meet again soon and exchanged numbers. Once we were done with coffee, I realized I had to go back to reality. It was so weird, with Zach I forgot about all the horrible things in my life. I forgot about my mom in rehab, I forgot about my dead father, I even forgot about feeling unwanted. Even only knowing him for a short amount of time, he made me feel wanted.

When I got home I quietly did my chores while thinking about Zach. Suddenly, I heard screaming. I ran upstairs to where the screaming was coming from and noticed a girl living in the group home, Brittany I think her name was, was laying on the ground unconscious. When I looked up I saw one of my "friends" Tiffany looking down at her horrified holding a door knob in her right fist. "Tiffany what the hell?!" I screamed. "She was threatening me, I-I- I didn't mean to hurt her!" Tiffany said. "She will be fine don't worry just go calm down." I said firmly. "I'm so sorry!" Tiffany muttered crying. I rubbed my thumb over Brittany's forehead feeling the bump forming on her head. It wasn't even a bad injury, sure that Brittany was faking unconscious and just trying for attention I walked away unamused. Noticing Brittany behind me made me roll my eyes in annoyance. What a brat. Walking over to the living room noticing Tiffany crying, I quickened my pace going to try and calm her.

Tiffany is 13, and since I am 16 I guess you could I say I act as if I am sometimes Tiffani's mom. Most girls here are messed up and mean but Tiffany is mostly normal and she's the closest I have to family. I used to have a younger sister, but she was taken away when she was 4 once they decided my mom was an unfit parent and we were separated. So now I pretend that if I still had my sister, she would be just like Tiffany my pretend little sister.

Once I calmed Tiffany down and helped her go to sleep, I went to eat some noodles and relax. Once I sat down, I heard my phone buzz. It was Zach 'I think I could like you ;) I'll find out.. Coffee same place Friday?' I smiled at the text trying to come up with a witty reply to impress him with. 'I'm gonna need a coffee if I'm spending another afternoon with you. ;)' I replied hoping it sounded flirty and not mean. Then I went to sleep with Zach on my mind counting down the hours until Friday.
