Madi's P.O.V.

Ben.

Ben is my crazy step-dad.

"Hi sweetie."

He says sternly.

I backed up only to hit my locker.

"Come on."

He says tugging on my wrist harshly.

"W-why."

I stutter.

He slaps me across the face in the same spot Jake did.

I fell to the ground in pain.

"Your getting it when you get home tonight"

he says barging out of the school.

I ignored everyone the whole day.

It was finally the end of last period but I wasn't happy about that..

I had to go home to an abusing man who is just gonna beat me.

I feel someone grab my arm.

I instantly pull away.

I'm swung around to face the opposite way.

"Have you been hanging out with Jc?"

Jake asks sternly.

"No."

I say plainly turning around.

"Don't. Walk. Away. From. Me!"

He says punching me in the gut.

I struggle to stand up.

"Madi I'm so so-"

I cut him off.

"Save it."

I say glaring at him.

"You... Bitch!"

I hear someone scream from behind Jake.

Oh no please no..

But of course, it has to be him.

Jake turns to him.

I look at him and shaking my head.

He didn't listen.

I couldn't watch this.

He walked up to Jake and threw a punch at his face, but missed.

Jake punched him in the gut.

"NO!"

I scream.

Jake punches Jc for what seems like the 100th time and stands hovering him.

I tried to stop him many times.

"Is this what you want, Madi? You want me to beat some loser up s-"

I cut him off again.

"No Jake. Shut the fuck up. We are through. I love jc and there is nothing you can do about it. Now leave him alone. You aren't welcome around me anymore."

I say with confidence.

"You think it's that easy to get rid of me..."

He says walking towards me.

I slap him across the face.

"Yeah, I do."

I say with a smirk.

Big, big mistake.

He punches me on the same place he had slapped me.

I fell to the ground beside jc.

I lift my head up and he was gone.

"Jc... Jc?"

I ask hovering him.

He had tears in his eyes.

"Madi.. Go."

He says.

"Wait.. What why?"

I ask.

"Madi, just trust me.

Please, I don't want you to suffer."

He says.

I feel my tears well up.

"But..but.."

I trail off.

"Madi I told you I'd leave you alone, I wish I could be around you. I don't think that it's for the best. I'm sorry please go."

He chokes out.

"And just leave you limp, on the ground?"

I ask shocked.

"Yes."

I get up and feel my eyes start to water up more.

"Go..."

He chokes out before closing his eyes.

I'm worthless.

I ran home as fast as I could and didn't notice that Ben wasn't home.

I was glad, but it didn't make my mood change.

I couldn't take it anymore.

I ran up to my bathroom and slammed the door.

I locked it and started looking through my drawers.

Where is it... Where is it?!

I finally find it.

I need this, my blade.
