Chapter Fourteen

Mufasa and Sarabi walked around. "I don't think Taka ever wants to come back to our den", said Mufasa. "What makes you say that?" Asked Sarabi. Mufasa sighed. "He's been hanging around with Zira's mother", said Mufasa. "Maybe he's grieving along with her. I mean she did just lost her daughter and she was your brother's best friend", said Sarabi.

Mufasa nodded. "That's true but I just feel so bad for him. He went through a lot. I did too but it's too traumatic for him", said Mufasa. "Quit worrying about him. As long as he didn't run off, you have nothing to worry about", said Sarabi. Mufasa nodded. Sarabi got close to Mufasa. "Mufasa, I have something to tell you", said Sarabi. "What is it?" Asked Mufasa. Sarabi blushed a little bit but sighed. "I want to be more than friends. Everytime you're around me I feel so safe", said Sarabi. Mufasa was shocked but nodded.

"Sarabi, I feel the same too but we're too young for this. Just because our parents betrothed us together, doesn't mean we should start dating yet", said Mufasa. Sarabi sighed. "I understand what you're saying but we come from a similar backstory. We both lost our mothers and we both have siblings we're concerned about", said Sarabi. "What do you mean about the siblings?" Asked Mufasa.

Sarabi sighed. "Naanda has been very depressed lately and my sisters and I are trying our very best to comfort her but she just doesn't want to be happy anymore", said Sarabi. Mufasa started growling. Sarabi was confused until she opened her mouth. A hyena was in front of them. "Please don't attack me. Please. I come in peace. I am the leader of the Hyena Pack. My name is Shenzi", said the hyena.

"Why are you here?" Asked Mufasa. Sarabi sniffed and her nose shriveled. "Ew you smell!" Said Sarabi. Shenzi sighed. "I'm here because I need to speak with the leader please", said Shenzi. "Don't let her. She might eat us", said Sarabi. Shenzi looked at Sarabi. "I don't eat lions. Especially rude lions", said Shenzi.

Sarabi scoffed. "My mother was right about you guys after all. Hyenas are bitches", said Sarabi. "Maybe you listen to your mother a little too much", said Shenzi. Mufasa put his paw in between them. "That's enough. I'll go get Ahadi but do not do anything with us please", said Mufasa. "Now tell me why I would want to do something bad with smelly lions. I only eat what's left at the Elephant Graveyard", said Shenzi.

"Yeah and you smell like it", muttered Sarabi. Mufasa looked at Sarabi. "I'll leave you here alone with her. Call for me if she does something", said Mufasa. Sarabi nodded and Mufasa walked away. Sarabi didn't make any eye contact with Shenzi but Shenzi laughed. "Do you like him?" Asked Shenzi. "Shut up. He's only my friend", said Sarabi. Shenzi laughed. "I'm sure he is", said Shenzi. Sarabi growled. "Why are you even here? The king banned hyenas here for a reason!" Said Sarabi. "I need to see the king for personal reasons", said Shenzi.

Sarabi scoffed and looked away. Mufasa and Ahadi walked to Shenzi. "Why are you here?" Asked Ahadi. "I really need to speak with you in private", said Shenzi. Ahadi hesitated but told his son and Sarabi to go somewhere else. "What is it?" Asked Ahadi. "We haven't had prey lately and I was asking for a friend if we could stay at the PrideLands for now", said Shenzi.

Ahadi looked at Shenzi. "Absolutely not! I will not share my pride with thieves. I'm sorry but you'll have to find elsewhere", said Ahadi. "But please. My brothers are so weak and they need food", said Shenzi. Ahadi sighed. "I'm sorry but the answer is no", said Ahadi. Shenzi was angry but she walked away.

Ever since the death of her mother's, she's been struggling being leader and she thought the lions could help her since the lions helped her mother in the past.
