Baelee

It's been a full month since the incident. A full month since I was on the verge of losing everything, and I know I don't mean my life.

Life has taken its course again and even though it's not easy to detach from the memories, from a situation as traumatic as that night was, we make our best attempt. We all do.

Román is recovered. In his skin there are only small traces that will surely disappear with time. Even though he is still living at Talissa's house and it is an issue I am not entirely comfortable with, I tolerate it or try to. I can't demand otherwise, I can't demand that he come to the house, when I don't even know how to tell my mother and David that he no longer lives in town, and hasn't set foot in that house since the blessed kidnapping.

François, who was one of the people who took the hardest blows to his psyche, has learned to cope. Despite struggling with nightmares that still haunt him every night. During the day he strives to smile and I dare say his soul is back to his old self. Together with Bernard we have been very attentive to him, we visit him daily and stay for hours at his home, until the last lights of the day fall.

In my case, I have joined the university and have sustained my academic performance with tooth and nail. Sometimes having my mind occupied between books makes the world simply disappear. In moments of hesitation and silences when just a couple of faces pop into my head, the best way out seems to sink into equations. I make an attempt to forget it, I make an attempt because Roman, Bernard and the blessed triangle that in my head has formed, disappear.

"I hate people who dress up their pets, but with Vicente that doesn't seem to matter" we haven't stopped hearing Luttia's anecdotes about her new boyfriend, who loves to dress up Chihuahuas.

And the reason I'm lying peacefully on the sofa in her room covered with a blanket is because I'm back.

Luttia, who once had the nerve to expel me from the D.S., has reinstated me two weeks ago. Her best excuse was that she needed an even number in the group, but only a fool could swallow her lie. We all know deep down that the D.S. without both of us at the leadership gates, there is little point in existing.

While I was away she simply lost control, and that was explained by the meetings that no one attended or the D.S. camp, which was the worst case. Everyone except Bernard left her party before it even started and that is a burden that someone like Luttia Belmont could not forgive herself. Deep down I think she needed me, because in theory I've always been the glue that binds her to the rest of the guys.

"You're in love, Luttia," Talissa says as she fiddles with her phone.

The green-eyed girl next to Luttia hasn't stopped smiling and typing on her screen. I must say it's curious and a part of me wants to join the bed where they both lie to find out how much she's hiding.

"Of course not," defends the girl in silk pajamas on the bed.

"You are, don't you dare deny it," I stare at the polish on my nails, I should paint them again since the first coat seems to have dried. "I just became aware of something!" I jump up from my place and my nails take a back seat. "The three of us, at the same time, are in a relationship."

I look at Luttia trying to understand what Talissa is talking about, but she speaks for me:  "What do you mean by relationship, Talissa?"

"Oh, I thought you noticed."

"What were we supposed to notice?"

"I know it's still early to say anything, but I can't hide it anymore. I've reached the point where I can feel I'm going to explode" the girl with disarmed curls in a high ponytail seems to light up her gaze. "I've been sleeping in the same bed with Roman for over a month now and I think we're already more than just friends."
