Ex best friend

Chapter 3- a step forward

I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing through my ears. But there was something different, I wasn't feeling as scared and lonely as I had felt the day before. The thought of having someone I can talk to felt great, was this my opportunity to start over?

As every other morning I chucked on my school uniform, but as walking down the stairs I didn't have to pretend to be happy, because that's how I am feeling, I had forgotten how good of a feeling this was.

After breakfast I left my front door and started walking to school as normal. I didn't know why but could sense that good things were coming my way.

~ambers pov (point of view) ~
I walked down the hallway making my way to my locker, being at a new school felt weird, but I knew I would eventually find my way around. About 2 minutes later of waiting I was happy to see a face I new arrive at school, aria had a bright smile across her face. Even though we only just met yesterday, I knew we would become quite good friends, seeing we have many things alike.

Me and aria went inside the classroom and started walking to the table nearest to the back. As I pull out the chair and take a seat I notice about 5 guys staring at me, I don't know why but even at my old school I got a lot of attention from boys, but the thing I really hate about that is they go for my looks and not my personality, but I'm not one of those girls who uses that power to date tons of guys, in fact I've only ever had 1 boyfriend in my entire life, which was about 6 years ago, when I was so immature and young. But the truth is I've always wanted One special guy who loves me for my personality and not just what I look like.

~arias pov~
I sit in class bored out of my brain, looking out the window was far more interesting as I watched the leaves fall from the trees above. Without noticing the recess bell had already gone, "tired?" I hear Amber say as she tucks in her chair, "yeah a little" I just reply.
"Anyway everyone's gone, let's go" she says in a cheering mood. "Ok ok" i laugh.

Amber and I began walking down the hall to our lockers, people would stare at me but it felt like it was good. "I almost forgot" Amber smiles as she hands me her iPhone. "What ?" I laugh in a confused way, "add your phone number silly" she giggles, I smile back and hand her my iPhone as well, we stand by our lockers and type in our phone numbers into each other's phones, that's when I notice by the corner of my eye I see jade staring at us. Without trying to make it obvious I'm looking at her, I quickly look around and manage to catch a glimpse of her expression, surprised to see she looks concerned or something. Could she be jealous? Jealous that I had finally moved on from her or jealous that I was lucky enough to hang out with such a pretty, cool, nice girl.

"There's a festival this weekend" I start to say to Amber, as I give her a warm smile "you wanna go ? " I ask her "yeah sounds great!" She cheerfully says."awesome" I say with s smile. We continued walking, talking about anything that came to mind.

We were now seated in cooking class, which was by far my favourite subject. "Ok today we will be making chic chip cookies" our cooking teacher explained. Finally after minutes of her showing us how to make them she sent us to out workbenches to start making the recipe. Of course me and Amber were partners. Along the way of cooking I had noticed many people coming up to is and just start talking, they would even talk to me, even after all the rumours which had made them dislike me. My head turned to scan the room, I was shocked to see jade at a bench without a partner. She looked upset, but she was my ex best friend and I didn't mind if she wasn't in my life anymore because I have already moved on.

Then a strange tonight occurred in my mind, had jade just lost all her popularity to me and Amber? Is that why people were ignoring her and starting to notice us even more? My life just seemed to be getting better and better everyday.
