George awoke from the sound of his alarm. He groaned before sitting up on his mattress. He gradually stood up from the warmth of his bed to begin the long day ahead of him.
Before he exited his room, he figured he should change clothes from the previous day, so he swiftly grabbed a baby blue sweater and black pants to change into for the day.
Most of his clothes were either light blue, black, or white just because he couldn't distinguish the other colors entirely and genuinely had no desire to put that much effort into simply dressing daily, so he stuck with the colors he knew better.
After dressing, George stepped outside into his kitchen and crouched down to open his fridge, looking for something to eat. He grabbed some leftover pizza from last night. He checked the time on his microwave and he had 5 minutes before he had to leave for work.
George sighed to himself before flopping down on the left edge of his sofa and grabbing the TV remote, turning it onto the local news channel. He took a large bite of his cold pizza and stared contently at the screen in front of him.
" Stephanie, isn't it true that there's a new killer loose here in the area of Clermont?"
"Yes, there is, so we want to make sure there's a warning to all the people around, lock your doors and stay inside for the time being. On other notes-" the voices on the TV were quickly shut off by George.
He sat there for a minute, second-guessing, going to work today; if there was a killer and he was unarmed, he should stay safe but yet again- how special would he be to get killed when there are so many other people around him. George thought for a moment before deciding it was probably safe enough.
He shook off the thought of a killer as he opened his door to a teddy bear with a note under it. He stood there, confused, before picking up the bear and grabbing the note. It looked as if it was written with a thick dark mustard yellow pen or a very liquidy marker. It read, "Hello George, how are you today? You seem lonely, so I got you a little bear, make sure to hold it close :)"
He smiled for a moment, but it swiftly dropped when he realized he didn't know who that came from. Not even his co-workers knew his address, but whoever sent this seemed to know him pretty well. He was a bit startled, but let it go since he had to be getting to work.
George set the note on the counter where he placed the teddy bear on its bottom (be mature, everybody) and pulled on his shoes. He swiftly tied the laces and headed for the door. His work was only a few buildings away, so he didn't need to drive.
George walked down the bumpy sidewalk as he took a deep breath of air. Cigarettes reeked in the air, making George gag as he sped up his treading along the street. He looked around at the atmosphere around him, puffy, white clouds forming above his head, the sun barely shining yet providing lots of light for him to see clearly.
He approached the police station and slowly opened the door. He greeted the lady at the front and made his way down the hall. George then stopped when he reached room 404 and stepped inside.
The interior was a white room covered wall to wall with paintings with no general pattern. There were around 12 shelves in total in all different places, yet they were all empty. In the middle of the room, there was a brown desk with a slight black tone to it. The table was neat and only had a large computer, and a crowded folder on top of it at the moment.
George exhaled deeply before walking over to the desk and pulling the chair out from under it to sit on as he began some paperwork he had taken out of the desk drawer along with a black ink pen.

Sorry, it's a short first chapter. What do you think? I literally had to pull up the maps app on my phone to find a town or city near Orlando and found Clermont. Also, just to remind you, George is colorblind, so the note was not written in yellow.
