Nick and Charlie

1: Changes

"Do you really have to go?" Charlie looked at Nick Nelson as he was putting his luggage in his car, ready to begin a new chapter. At uni. Charlie wasn't really hyped.

"Charlie..." Nick pulled Charlie in a hug and they stayed like that for a while until Sarah Nelson came out of the house.

"Nicky, you're gonna be late." 

Nick hugged Charlie one last time and then got in the passengers seat next to his mum. She started the car and left, leaving Charlie on their porch.

Charlie sighed and left, to go home.

He opened the front door, said hello to his parents and went straight to his bedroom and plopped on his bed. Next week is gonna be hell. He's spent his whole summer with his boyfriend, going to the beach, playing mario kart. Now all of that is over. School is starting soon and it'd be without Nick.

"Charlie?" Someone knocked on the door and opened it. He recognized the voice. It was his sister. 

"Charlie, dad asked me what you want for dinner."

"Nothing." Charlie mumbled in his pillow. "I'm not hungry."

Tori sighed. She knew she had to make Charlie eat at least something. She couldn't let him let himself starve. "C'mon, you've got to eat at least something."

"Victoria, just leave." Charlie said, still with his face in the pillow. Tori sighed, got up and left Charlie's room.

Tori picked up the house phone and dialled Nick Nelson's number in. 

"Yeah?"

"Nick, it's Tori."

"Oh hey. Err, why are you calling me?"

"It's Charlie. He refuses to come downstairs to eat."

Tori heard Nick sigh and the other end. "Yeah, I can't turn back-"

"He's your boyfriend! And you know how hard it is for him to eat when he's in a mood about something."

"I can't just rethink my whole life just for Charlie to eat."

"Do you even care about him? Serious question. Because you knew how hard it would be for Charlie, and yet you still went like 2000 km away."

"Tori, what kind of fucking question is that, of course i care about him. And I've spoken about it with him and we're gonna face time a lot."

Tori suddenly got an idea. "Nick, do you have enough battery?"

"Uh yeah, why?"

"Could you face time with Charlie while he eats. I think seeing u, will hopefully motivate him to at least eat something."

"Yeah..yeah that makes sense. I'm gonna call him now." he ends the call and tori puts down the home phone. Minutes later she hears Charlie talking. Probably to Nick. He comes down the stairs with the biggest smile i've seen, facetiming Nick. "Can we eat pizza?"

Tori smiles and they both enter the kitchen to eat. They've already put Oliver to eat. "Ah Charlie, Tori, you finally joined us." Jane looks at Charlie, who put himself at the table. "Charlie, no phones at the table."

"But it's Nick."

Tori gives her mum a look and understands what's happening. "Ah yes, of course." She stands next to Nick and greets Sarah. She then walks back to the stove and takes out a frozen pizza. Charlie makes a face but Nick reassures him that everything will be okay. He asked his mum to stop by a shop on the road and buys a pizza to help Charlie with eating.

Jane smiles and puts the baked pizza, cut in slices in front of him and Charlie and Nick eat their pizza's together.
