Nick and Charlie

7: Arguments

"So, what are you gonna do?"

Nick sighed. "I'm definitely not breaking up with Charlie. He probably has his reasons, but he's been there for me in my darkest times, I'm not leaving him now."

"So you're not gonna take Delilah's advice?" Noah asked  laying on his bed with a beer.

Nick scoffed. "No. I love Charlie a lot. Hey, we don't have any lessons for a week, right?"

Noah nodded, taking a sip of his beer. "Yep. We've got a week free. Mostly due to a lot of teachers that are sick."

Nick smiled. "What do you think about a road trip?"

"Where to?"

"We are going to visit Charlie."

"Okay." Nick threw his bag over his shoulder. "I'm done packing." he looked over at Noah who was standing at the door with two suitcases. "What did you pack?" Nick snorted.

"Food." Noah stared at Nick. "A lot of food."

Nick chuckled. "alright. Let's go." the door opened and Delilah entered with Ava. "Hey, are you comi-" delilah stared at the luggages in Noah's hands.

She scoffed. "Er, where are you two going exactly?"

"To visit Charlie." Noah said a bit too enthusiastically.

Delilah chuckled. "Err, and that abt me telling you he's holding you back? He's taking your happiness away."

Nick chuckled. "I'm stopping you right there. Charlie isn't taking away my happiness. In fact, I'm way happier than I was when I didn't know him. Charlie is amazing and the fact that you haven't met him and you're taking behind his back like that makes me question my choice in friends. Again." he grabbed one of Noah's luggages and walked through the door that was still open. "Cmon Noah, let's go."

The left and closed the door. Delilah remained with Ava in the room. "Ugh, i can't believe he said that to me."

Ava never liked to get in arguments with her, but Nick was right. "I hate to say this, but Nick's right. You talked about my brother like that and made me hate him. Now you tried the same on Nick."

Delilah turned to Ava and looked her dead in the eye. "So? I'm the only one that knows what's best for you people. If I weren't here, yall were dead by now."

Ava sighed. "I'm sorry, I'm breaking up with you." Ava opened the door and left, leaving Delilah alone in the room.

"Damn Nick, I can't believe you said that to Delilah. You're the only one who has ever gone against Delilah. It's cool."

Nick put his car keys in the car and turned to Noah, who was sitting next to him. "You're telling me no one has gone against her? She's crazy."

"Yeah she made me break up with my girlfriend because she was bad news."

"Who was your girlfriend?"  Nick asked, starting the engine.

"Ava."

Nick spit out his water that he just opened. "Delilah stole your girlfriend?"

Noah nodded. "Yep. Turned out, Ava was bi, she told Delilah and delilah stole her, and manipulated Ava in loving her. It was a whole thing."

"Damn, she's crazy." they both heard screaming outside and saw Ava running to their car.

"It's done, i broke it off with her im sorry i know you won't accept my apology because you haven't had closure and I respect that. I just wanted to let you know that I'll know better from now on and that I still loved you."

Nick looked at Noah next to him who was smiling. He got out of the car and walked over to Ava. "I'm still hurt you left me for Delilah and I can't really accept your apology, but what about little steps?"

Ava smiled through her tears. "That sounds good."

Nick let down the car window and peaked with his head out. "Alright all very sweet, can we now leave to Charlie?"

Noah chuckled. "Yeah we can. Bye Ava."

"Wait, can I come with? I can pack a backpack with necesities."

Nick groaned and Noah slapped him. "Be nice. We're gonna get there."
