The wait had been long.
He'd gone back to the office after his tryst with Nathaniel.
While everyone believed them to be a well, happy and loving family with more money than they could hope to spend in a lifetime, anyone who came from the Pitts family knew better.
To the Pitts, image was everything. Even when their father pretended to be head of the family when in reality it was their mother.
Celeste Pitts was the family everything.
She was the one to meet when a business deal was brought to the table. A new investment had to be brought to her. Nothing—nothing—went past his mother and if she was ever to learn of the fued going on between he and Nathan because of a man, there would be hell to pay.
Rather than talk to the offending party, she'd take away the very thing causing the fued. And he didn't mean that in a good way.
Titan had had enough experiences growing up with his brother who always seemed to want whatever it was he owned. The toy car he'd gotten for his fifth birthday was later smashed into smithereens by their mother because Nathan had wanted to claim the car for himself but Titan had refused. The first car he'd gotten from his father after his graduation had also been taken away because his brother wanted that exact same one.
His brother didn't mind the five year age gap between them. All he wanted was to see Titan miserable always. When he'd gotten one of Titan's past lover pregnant, he'd expected him to throw a fit and was disappointed when he didn't. He did love his daughter very much; at least he was able to get one thing right.
Celeste Pitts was a force to be reckoned with on her good days. On the bad ones she was a terror. Which was why he'd been so careful not to let anyone get close because the last time he'd fallen in love and expressed it...
Titan closed his eyes and turned away from the view of his office window. The cold, sleek view of his office greeted him. His father had once sat in this very office as the CEO, only that his mother ruled behind the scenes with tight fists. No one dared to go against the woman.
He sighed as he went to sit on the high-backed leather chair that was meant to intimidate. He should be in the hospital with Malora right now, he knew that, but he also knew that staying away was the only way he could protect her.
His mother was having him followed. Discreetly, of course. But he caught on quick.
She was dead set on him getting married to Meredith Grey because of the alliances such relations could bring her. Titan was no fool. His family didn't have this much money just because of this business they did. He was well aware that they dabbled in illegal businesses but wasn't sure of how deep it ran.
Titan wasn't a saint by a long shot because he'd done worse things, too. He'd done more than worse itself.
It wasn't something he was proud of and he couldn't say he was forced to do it. In fact, he'd resigned to do every of his parents bidding until his very last breath, but all that changed when he met her.
Malora McCarran was a breath of fresh air in more ways than one. She was innocent and also very wise. She was everything he wasn't expecting.
Titan couldn't believe he once thought he could hurt her because of leaving him and taking money from Meredith. Hurting her hurt him in the worst ways possible that he couldn't even stand himself after. Seeing her cry was like nailing his own coffin. It hurt bad. He hadn't even realized how much he loved her until the thought of any harm coming to her enlightened him. He'd come this close to loosing her again.
