The death of her grandfather brought Katie Williams' world crashing down around her. The days after his death brought stories and reminiscing of the good times and a visiter who would change everything.
The Mercedes garage erupted into cheers as Lewis crossed the line in first to put an end to a very controversial and dramatic debut Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
"Wow." Katie let out a sigh as the train of drivers started coming across the line.
"Like I said. Come by anytime." Toto told her as he placed a hang on her shoulder for a brief moment before walking away.
Katie watched the Mercedes team principal leave the garage along with the rest of the team heading towards the end of the pit lane to greet their two drivers who were on the podium.
The Brit stood up a few moments later and walked down the pit lane following after the two teams who were heading to greet their drivers.
She watched as Lewis along with Max and Valtteri got out of their cars after parking up behind their respective numbers corresponding with their finishing positions.
Lewis made his way over to the team and immediately spotted Katie in the middle of everyone.
He reached over the barrier and pulled the young girl into a bone crushing hug.
"Thank you." The F1 driver whispered in her ear through his crash helmet and Katie immediately knew he was referring to what she had said to him last night.
"You're welcome." Katie smiled in replied as they pulled away.
The sight of the big screen by the podium caught her eye as the camera followed Lewis as he hugged his team and she realised that the whole world would have just saw him rush over to her first after the race.
She could just imagine what her mother was saying about the whole thing back at home in England.
Katie watched the podium with a smile on her face as the presentation of the trophies happened and while the champagne celebrations started Max left, clearly feeling like he was done wrong by during the race.

That night Mercedes were having a celebration dinner before they were all flying out to Abu Dhabi tomorrow for the final race of the year.
After Lewis' win earlier, he and Max were now level on 369.5 points each going into the last race meaning that whoever finished higher in the points was going to take the championship.
Right now Katie was in her room getting ready for the team dinner she was invited to.
She was just out of the shower and had a towel wrapped around her body and her hair.
The young girl sat down at the desk in her room where her make up was laid out. She went for a natural look of concealer, powder, some mascara and lipstick.
As she was doing her make up the sound of her phone ringing cut off the music she had been listening too.
Katie grabbed her phone to see 'Dad💖' written across the screen. She quickly answered the face time call and was faced with her little brother Nathaniel.
"Katie." The little boy exclaimed at the sight of his sister who was resting her phone against the wall so she could talk and get ready at the same time.
"Hey Nate." Katie smiled in reply.
"Hey Katie." Her dad spoke as he appeared behind her brother.
"Hey dad." The brown haired girl replied as she continued applying powder around her face. "What ya up to?"
"Just getting ready for dinner." Katie said as she put the powder down once she was done. "How are you guys?"
"We're good."' Marc told his oldest daughter as he wrapped his arm around Nathaniel.
"Where's mum?" Katie wondered addressing the elephant in the room.
"She went to your grandfather's grave." Marc replied.
Before the race today, a moment silence was held in the honour of Frank Williams. Drivers, team members and former Formula 1 champions gathered around a huge portrait of Frank Williams on the ground with Katie in the middle of it all.
It was an emotional moment to say the least for all involved especially Katie. To see the mark her grandfather left on the sport he loved so much was an amazing thing.
She enjoyed talking with different figures in the sport who knew her grandfather and listen to their stories about the Williams man.
"Yeh. Think it was just emotional for her. We saw you on tv after the race." Her dad told her making Katie mentally cringe.
She knew the moment her dad was referring to was the moment after the race where Lewis had hugged her bringing the attention of the cameras with him.
"Oh yeh that." Katie replied. "Was mum mad?"
"Don't know. That was when she got up and said she was going to the cemetery." Marc explained causing Katie.
"I'm 23 years old dad. She has to let me live my life." Katie sighed as she spoke.
"I know sweetheart. Just enjoy your dinner and Abu Dhabi. You can talk to your mum when you get back. I love you." Her dad spoke as Nathaniel blew a kiss.
"Love you guys too. Bye." Katie waved goodbye before hanging up the phone.
The Williams girl leant back in her seat and looked at herself in the mirror. Maybe she did have feelings for Lewis but at the end of the day she was an adult and she had to make her own mistakes.
The music resumed playing after the ending of the call prompting Katie to finish getting ready before she would end up being late for dinner.
