Stiles sighed happily with a huge smile on his face as he realized that his first date with Derek was that night. His fox was yipping in excitement and his spark was zinging in anticipation. Stiles? Well, he felt his cheeks heat and butterflies erupt in his stomach. After all this time, not only had he found his mate, but he was moving forward, heading into a relationship. He and Derek had spent the morning discussing the details for their date.

Stiles glanced at the clock as his final class of the day was coming to a close. Soon. In less than three hours he would be on his first date with his ma–with Derek. A dopey smile broke out on his face as he packed his things back into his messenger bag and made his way back to his dorm.

The only question that remained was what he was going to wear. It took him a few tries, but he finally settled on a dark blue long sleeve t-shirt with the sleeves pushed up, skinny jeans and a pair of black converse. It was a go to for him but when Cora told him that the jeans accentuated his ass he had to wear them. Stiles felt his cheeks heat up at the words she had said in regards to what Derek would think. He turned to admire how they looked and even though he knew it wouldn't happen, especially not after one date, he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to feel Derek's skin against his own. Gentle caresses, cuddles, kisses and more? He bit his lip and giggled–a manly giggle obviously. After he was showered and dressed the only thing left to do was wait.

Derek wasn't nervous–he wasn't–okay maybe a little but all things considered he felt that was a perfectly normal feeling to have. He had a date with his mate in just a couple hours. His wolf was practically howling in excitement because finally he was going to get to be close to his ma–Stiles. He took his time showering before deciding on a dark green Henley, black jeans that Cora said accentuated his assets. He had rolled his eyes at her but one look in the mirror and he knew she was right. He only hoped that Stiles would agree.

He glanced at his watch seeing that he had only about an hour before he was to meet Stiles. He had insisted on picking Stiles up from the fox's dorm. It may have had something to do with his alpha hood and his wolf needing to protect the spark. Though if Derek was honest with himself, Stiles didn't need protecting considering he was much stronger than Derek. That didn't mean that Derek felt any less inclined to offer said protection if it was desired.

Before long it was time to go get Stiles and Derek felt a sense of calm wash over him. He wasn't afraid and his nerves were dissipating. He didn't think much of it as he made his way to the dorms. He hoped that by the end of the night his mate would want to be his but still he was prepared if that wasn't the case. Derek had to remind himself that he was being given a chance and he wanted to do right by Stiles. He wanted to prove that he, Derek Hale, was worthy of the one who had been presented as his other half.

Stiles heard Derek coming or perhaps he just knew the wolf was there and Stiles didn't want to wait any longer. So, he grabbed his keys, wallet and phone, shoving them into his pockets before darting downstairs to meet Derek at the door. His cheeks were slightly flushed and he was biting his lip in a nervous gesture but when his eyes fell on the wolf it was as if all the air disappeared and he couldn't catch his breath. Merely laying his eyes on his mate made his heart flutter and his fox purr. Stiles was sure the wolf could hear how fast his heart was beating.

"Hey Stiles," Derek greeted the fox quietly with a shy smile. Which is so damn adorable, and Stiles couldn't help but return the smile.

"Hi," Stiles said quietly. He stepped closer and fought to contain a whine when his fox chanted in his head. Mate. Scent. Now. Need.

Derek's brow furrowed in confusion as he moved to stand right in front of Stiles. His hand slowly cupped Stiles's cheek as he softly spoke. "What do you need Little Fox?"
