| Chapter Twenty- Five • Two |
"Don't hand the blade to her, Adrienne!" Nik exclaims as I still hand the knife to his little sister Rebekah. The touch he holds shines on his face showing his scared expression as she starts to carve her name into the wall just as I did."She needs to carve her name, not I. Now shh, so she won't lose a finger." I state as Rebakah giggles.
"But father will not like her handling the blade."
Rebekah stops carving and turns around to look at him. "If I want to wield a blade, I shall wield a blade." She states before going back to carving. "Father need not know."
"He will find out. He always does." Nik presses. Rebekah stares at her finished name on the wall before walking toward her worried big brother.
"That's because you always tell him."
"I cannot help it... he frightens me." He admits as we both give him sympathetic looks. I move closer, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry. I have spelled the cave so that he won't find us here," I say softly. "He frightens you all, but that's why you all stick together as one-"
"Alway and Forever." They both say in unison, smiling at me.
