Demi loved her job. She loved to travel and visit different places but she was so happy to be back in Los Angeles. It was freezing in New York and even though it was nearly December in LA, it still wasn't as cold as it was in New York. There wasn't snow on the ground. Plus, Lola liked being at Demi's house more than anything else and she only had a few days left with her so Demi wanted to make the most of them.

But first, she needed to pay a little visit to her best friend. It was rare that she and Jhene went more than a day without at least seeing each other but Demi had been in New York working on the song with Drake for past few days so they had only been able to FaceTime. Demi had a lot of friends but none of them were like Jhene. They balanced each other out and that's why Demi loved to hang out with her. None of her friends were bold enough to tell her the complete truth at all times and to check her when she was getting out of control. Jhene did that and wasn't afraid to do that whenever it was necessary. Plus Lola loved to play with Jhene's daughter, Namiko, who was only a few years older than her.

She had a key to her house just like Jhene had a key to hers so she let herself in the morning after she got back from New York. As suspected, Nami and Jhene were in the kitchen sitting at the counter having breakfast. Jhene was in one of her usual loose dresses with the unique tattoos on her back exposed since she had cut her hair so it barely skimmed her shoulders. It looked good on her, especially since she wore it curly all the time.

"Hey!" Demi exclaimed, popping into the kitchen causing Jhene and Nami to both jump up since they hadn't heard her come in.

"Jesus Christ, Demi! I thought you were still in New York!" Jhene exclaimed, picking up the pot that she had dropped as Demi set her purse down on the counter.

"I told you I was coming back at the end of the week. We need a best friend day. I haven't seen you in so long," Demi replied with a pout, engulfing her best friend in a hug. Jhene chuckled as she pulled away.

"We could go get tattoos. I've been thinking about getting a new one and you know you're my favorite tattoo buddy," Jhene nudged her as she cleaned up from breakfast and Nami and Lola ran off, probably to Nami's playroom.

"She didn't even say hi to me," Demi pouted, folding her arms over her chest. Nami usually greeted her with hugs and kisses but today she didn't even get a hello.

"She's in a bad mood. Her dad went on vacation with his new girlfriend so she's stuck with me for another week," Jhene explained. Demi nodded, understanding how Nami was feeling. She prayed that she would get married to whoever was having her children. After seeing what Jhene and Dallas went through, she knew that she would not have the patience to deal with a baby daddy.

"So tattoos? I need to get these hideous lips off of my wrist. I'm not even friends with that chick anymore and it looks like a vagina," Demi explained, viciously eyeing the lips that she had tattooed under her famous "stay" tattoo.

"Oh, I know a friend that can cover it up for you. I was wondering when you were gonna get rid of that. It's been looking like a vagina for a while now. I was just trying to be nice because I thought it meant something to you," Jhene pursed her lips once she was done talking, causing Demi to shove her to the side before they both broke into laughter.

"Speaking of vaginas, I saw a picture of you and Drake in New York. Are you not with Wilmer anymore or was that never even a thing in the first place?"

Since Jhene was finished cleaning up, they both headed up to her room after checking on the kids. They flopped down on her bed and Demi played with the ends of her hair, like she always tended to do when she was nervous.

"We're working on a song together. Didn't you work on a song with him? Is he always so charming and so..."

"Drake?" Jhene finished for her. She had worked with Drake several times and he laid the charm down thick but she never fell for it. She had been with her fair share of rappers and she was used to their games. Drake just played a little harder than everyone else.
