Chapter 8: Underpass

Y/N POV

Prescott was overrun and we had to leave and now we have hopes to go to get to Richmond.

Eleanor: Kids you have to get up.

Clem/Y/N: What?

Eleanor: We got a wreak blocking us.

Y/N: Shit.

Me and Clem get out but Mariana is still asleep in the car.

Tripp: Well, we got a bunch of cars clogging the underpass. Too many to drive through. We're gonna need to move some of 'em outta the way.

Gabe: Hey. I'm coming, too.

Y/N: Goddammit.

Eleanor: I'll stay with Kate and keep a lookout.

Javi: Yell at us if anything happens.

Tripp: Awfully convenient the pass is blocked like this.

Conrad: Not convenient at all, if you ask me.

Me and Clem kill some approaching walkers.

Y/N: Good job babe.

Clem: You too.

Javi: If we move that car right there, we should be good. C'mon, let's get to work and clear it out.

JAVI POV

I talk to Tripp

Javi: How we doin'?

Tripp: Conrad doesn't look too good over there.

Javi: Tell me about it.

Tripp: He's a good man, Javi. Known him a long time. This is...just a dark day for him.

Javi: Yeah.

Tripp: Keep an eye on him for me, alright?

I talk to Eleanor

Javi: How's Kate doing?

Eleanor: She's holding on. We're almost there.

Javi: Let me know if anything changes.

Eleanor: I will.

Y/N POV

I'm gonna go and check on kate.

Clem: Okay. I'll stay here.

I walk up to the car and see Kate in the back half conscious.

Y/N: Hi Kate. How are you feeling?

Kate: Miserable and... sleepy.

Eleanor: We need to get to Richmond ASAP if she's gonna make it.

Y/N: We will.

I open the door and slightly enter the car and look down at Kate.

Y/N: We're almost there Kate. You're gonna be okay but in the meantime get some sleep.

Kate: Okay.

I lift her chin up and pull her into a slow kiss.

I pull away and put my hand on her cheek.

Y/N: Sleep well beautiful.

I kiss her on the forehead and she smiles.

I close the car door and return to Clem.

Clem: How's she doing?

Y/N: Not good. She's floating in and out of consciousness.

Clem: I hope she's okay.
