I woke up like usual at around 7 in the morning. I went downstairs and went to the kitchen to make some breakfast. The dorm was surprisingly quiet so I went around looking for everyone. I knocked gently on Daphne and Enzo's dorm and opened the door after not hearing any sound. I looked around but couldn't find them, moving on to the next room.
I went all around the dorm but no one was here so I guessed they had gone to the great hall already. I ran upstairs to change into a white cropped button shirt and a black skirt. I put my robe on top and left with my bag.
I walked past the Great Hall but they weren't there so I decided to just go straight to potions. I walked in and sat down in my usual spot. Soon after class started but they still weren't here. I ignored it and payed attention to Professor Slughorn.
About half way into the lesson I had gotten a note, excusing me from class. It told me to go to the forest so I walked out of the grounds towards the entrance. I followed the dirt path till I got to the clearing and saw a balloon hanging from a tree branch. I burst the balloon and a letter fell down.
I picked it up and read it. It told me to go to the fountain in the courtyard. I ran to the front of the school with a smile on my face, enjoying the hunt. I saw another balloon and popped it, finding another note.
'To the library dumbass' I read. I knew this note was from Tom from the clear lack of effort and his favourite nickname for me.
I walked down the corridor to the library. I walked in, looking down each row and found the balloon right down the end. Again I found a note telling me to go to DADA classroom.
Once I got there I walked around the classroom when I found the balloon at the ceiling. I popped it and the note told me to go to the first place I met everyone. The common room.
I walked down to the dungeons and opened the door. I was met with the loud cheer from my friends, confetti in my face and the bright neon colours of party decorations.
They all came and bombarded me with hugs. I stood there like a twig trapped in between their bodies. When they finally let go I looked around and my eyes caught the banner hung by the steps.
' Happy Birthday'
To be honest I forgot it was my birthday today. I smiled at all of them and tried to hold back the tears. A few slipped past and ran onto my cheek but I was quick to wipe them away.
I was dragged over to the couches were a bunch of presents were. They passed them to me one by one and I opened them, thanking them for their gifts. I had gotten a butterfly earring, necklace and bracelet set from Daphne, a new dress and some lingerie from Pansy, a lot of alcohol from Blaise, Enzo got me my favourite sweets from Honeydukes, Tom and Matteo got me a mix of things. I got some snacks, jewelry, clothes, books and more money.
The others left so it was just me and Draco. He pulled me up and dragged me through the school and to the courtyard. We apparated away and when I got there he covered my eyes.
On the count of 3 he removed his hands and I was faced with a flower field. I looked around and saw a picnic rug with a food, layed out. I turned around to Draco and wrapped my arms around his neck, giving him a hug. He hugged me back and I thanked him before he led me to sit down.
He poured us both a glass of champagne and we sat, talking and enjoying the time. We snacked on the fruit and he rested his head on my lap while I ran my hand through his hair. We looked up at the clouds, finding different shapes.
After about half an hour he got up and offered me his hand. He pulled me up and we went for a walk through the flower field. I picked some flowers and wove them together, making flower crowns. I made one for me and another for Draco.
He put it on and we kept walking while admiring the sunset. We had spent almost the whole day here but it went by so quickly. Draco turned me around to him and pulled out a small box.
" Y/N you are the most special girl I have ever met. You make me feel things no other person has made me feel before. I have so much to thank you for. You helped my mother and I even after I was a right dickhead to you, you have made me a better person and you lighten up my day just by seeing your beautiful face. No one will ever understand the amount of love I have for you. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me."
He opened the box and inside was a beautiful gold ring with a green gem in the middle.
" This is a promise ring. I promise to you that I'll always be by your side, and be here for you. I promise that I'll love you for eternity. I promise that one day when we are ready i'll get you a new one- a wedding ring."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked him in his grey eyes.
" I love you Draco." I lent in and he met me halfway, kissing me passionately.
We pulled away and he pulled the ring out putting it on my ring finger on the right hand. I hugged him and he wrapped his arms around me. My favourite place to be, in his arms feeling safe and sound.
