Elly's POV

Todays the day, It's my birthday! If my mate is in this pack I'll find him today! I woke up early to look my very best for school today. What will I say when we meet? Will my nerves get the better of me and make me freeze in my spot? Will I start to ramble on and on about nothing? What if I say something embarrassing? I lay my hand over my stomach and double over, this overthinking is making me nauseous. I just really want my mate to be happy with me. Whoever he may be. I want to love him, support him, have his babies and grow old with him. I want to make him as happy as he can be. I want his mind to always be at peace. I was so lost in my thoughts I almost didn't hear my mom yell upstairs to me. "Honey the bus is here!" My eyes widened,  I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs. "Bye mom!" I called out before running to catch the bus. Carl the bus driver had a history of leaving me behind for taking longer than he'd like. I completely understand his reasoning though. He can't do his job if every student was late. I made it just as he closed the doors to the bus. I am only 1 of 6 students who take the bus. People my age in this pack usually have cars, I still haven't learned how to drive a car because of all of my community service and babysitting I do for the tired pack mothers. I keep meaning to ask my mom for an hour of her time but our schedules just never seem to line up. We are both soo busy. The bus ride was short because Carl decided not to wait for 2 of the students to get on the bus today. It was slightly awkward to look forward pretending not to notice one of my classmates running along side of the bus screaming for Carl to stop the bus, but it wasn't my place to give Carl a hard time today. I did look back once I saw the boy trip and fall to the ground from the corner of my eye trying to chase the bus. I saw him get up and dust himself off, I am so happy he was okay. When I finally got to school my anxiety was through the roof. Casey brought me a birthday cupcake and sang happy birthday to me. I couldn't focus on her or the cupcake, I could only focus on searching for my mate. "Ells you have to breathe, you will find him when the time is right. Relax" Casey says laughing at me. I blush looking at her with an apologetic smile on my face. She's been talking this entire time and I haven't heard a word of it. My mind is focused on finding my mate. The excitement and nervousness is suffocating. Just then I feel eyes on me, Then I catch the scent of tree leaves on a rainy day. I take a deep breath and turn around to make eye contact with Aries. My heart beats a thousand times faster and my feet start making their way over to Aries on their own accord. I've always known this was no regular crush. He is my mate. We are going to love each-other for all of eternity. I've never kept his gaze this long before. I could stare into his eyes forever. I only looked away to peak at his beautiful pink lips. Once he's within 5 feet of me I start trying to start a conversation with him. "Hi Aries, How are you today? I can't believe you're my mate." I started off saying but paused when I realized he's completely zoned out. He has a blank look on his face and I cant  figure out what he's thinking. I took this time to examine his features. I could stare at him all day. I want to touch him so bad but I can't tell what's going on between us right now. Just then he says ""Elia, can we talk about it later? I have to get to class right now, I'm sorry" and walks away looking upset. Where does this leave us?
