Overwhelmed and underestimated

Monday

Elias POV

I spent the weekend with my mom cleaning the house and shopping for graduation. I spent all of last night trying to calm my anxiety. I woke up with a smile on my face today ready to face the day head on. I just have to be patient. Everything will work out the way it's supposed to work out. Everything happens for a reason. I know me and Aries are destined to be together so all I have to do it wait. I can wait. I'm young, I have a lifetime.

Walking into school today the first person I saw was Brooke, I smile at her and say hi but she gives me an annoyed look. I shrug it off and head towards my locker. "Elia" I hear her call out after me. I freeze and turn around not wanting to be rude. I give her my full attention and she's walking closer to me with a mischievous glint in her eyes. I decide to compliment her to defuse whatever tension we have between us right now. "Brooke your hair looks soo pretty to" I start to tell her but she cuts me off with a scoff." I bite my lip and wait for her to say something but she's just glaring at me. "Did you want to talk to me?" I ask her confused. "What were you doing with Aries at that party? You looked like a complete slut by the way" She pushes my shoulder and I stumble a bit. I start to back away from her not knowing what else to do. She's clearly upset and I can't afford to match her emotions. "N-nothing" I stutter backing away from her until finally hitting a locker. Dead end. I look around me and a crowd was forming to watch us. "awww look Kayla, she's scared" Brooke laughs slamming her hand into the locker by my head. I close my eyes and think happy thoughts. My room smells like pine sole, My mirror has never been this clean, My mom said I might be able to get a car soon. I am scared, but not for myself.

Right before I thought I was going to lose it Casey came and pushed Brooke off of me. I opened my eyes and looked at my best friend. She wasn't going to let anyone treat me badly. Casey is my peace. I know I can control my wolf when she's by myside keeping me grounded. "What are you going to do? fight us both?" Brooke laughs while pointing towards Kayla. "Your friend isn't going to help you. She's too scared. She's too....Nice" Brooke twirls a piece of my hair with a fake smile on her face. She holds eye contact with me while talking to Casey. "Casey you better watch out before something bad happens to you." I pushed Brooke and she hit the ground hard. My eyes widened in shock. I didn't mean to. She was threatening Casey. I couldn't stop myself. I walk towards her to help her up while apologizing a million times but she looks at me like I'm some kind of monster. I look around and see Aries making his way to the front of the crowd. He has a disappointed look on his face as he helps Brooke up. I look around and everyone has a shocked expression on their faces. "Are you both okay?" Aries asks staring straight at me like I was the one who hit the ground. I look around because I hear whispers through my ringing ears. "I thought she was supposed to be the nicest girl in school." "I guess she finally cracked" "Did you see the way he's looking at Elia?"

What do I do now? I've always avoided the drama and chaos of highschool. I've never been in a situation like this. I make eye contact with Aries and my heart sinks. He's looking at me worried and I don't know how to react to any of this. All of this attention on me is too much. "Ells lets go." Casey says looping our arms and pushing through the crowd. I look back as I'm being dragged away to see Aries watching me. Brooke grabs his arm but he snatches it away and growls at her, "Stay away from her" He tells her angrily before walking away leaving Brooke looking dumbfounded. I smile to myself. I don't think I have to worry about her anymore. All of my anxiety went away knowing that my mate stood up for me.
