Simon sighed loudly and rubbed his temple. "Look...I have nothing against you and Harry dating. I accept you and would love for you to be out..." Louis' eyes glistened with hope,"... but the fans won't like that. The media won't like that." Simon finished. Louis slumped in his seat. He felt devastated. "So...what do I have to do now..?" He asked tiredly.

Simon threw a stack of papers infront of Louis. "We are giving you a new beard an--" Louis cut him off. "What about Eleanor? Isn't she going to be my beard again after she gets married to her boyfriend?" Louis was confused. "Yes if you let me finish." Simon said and sighed before starting again. "Eleanor will be your beard but around a year and a half later. Around the mid of 2016. As of now, you will have a girl named Brianna."

Louis was definitely not ready for what came next.

"...You have to have a child with her."

All the air seemed to be punched out of Louis' lungs. His eyes widened. "What?" He whispered. "Yes, you will have to have a baby with her via surrogacy." Simon explained.

Louis' chest started tightening up. A pit seemed to formed in his stomach, he had this weird feeling in his stomach that he couldn't explain. He just looked at Simon in disbelief. He tried saying something but he couldn't. He was...shocked...confused... he felt overwhelmed. He couldn't believe that they would make him do that. Louis was lost in thinking about a million things and nothing at the same time while staring at Simon bewildered untill he felt something salty on his tongue. Tears. He was snapped out of his thoughts.

He wiped his tears away, "I am not doing that...no. Nu-no..I ca-- can't do this...no...y-you can kick me out of the band...I-I am not no I am not doing this. I-" Louis started rambling in a low whisper, it was barely audible. Tears had now started streaming down his face.

"I am sorry Louis. I really am. But you have to. This will shut the rumours once and for all." Simon said with a sigh. Louis got up from his seat and walked across the table and stood on Simon's side who turned his chair to face him. Louis looked down at Simon and then he fell to his knees in the praying position. He joined his hands together. "Please...please don't make me do this.." He begged Simon with utmost sincerity. He sounded so...broken. So vulnerable.

"I can't do anything Louis, you have to do this." Simon said. Louis still in that position replied, "B..But what good would it do? It will ruin...ruin not only my but the kid's life too..please Simon." Louis pleaded. "I'm sorry son. You have to--"

"No! I won't do it."

Simon sighed, "I didn't wanna do this but....if you don't do this, don't expect us to not do anything. Harry will suffer Louis. I am not joking here. He would be paired with more women that you have seen in your life and he would have to do this babygate if you don't so it.No matter what you still can't come out. But if you do this...maybe 2024, when your contract with the label completely ends, I will try and let you two come out. " Simon said.

"Harry's freedom is on the line Louis. Now it's your decision." Simon said.

Louis closed his eyes for a moment. Harry's eyes coming to his mind. He thought about the day when Harry had first called Louis' 'my home', he thought about the day when Harry had first introduced Louis to his parents as 'my future everything' , he thought about the day Harry had talked to Louis about having kids in the future and naming the boy 'Freddie' and the girl 'Darcy', he thought about the day Harry asked Louis about getting married later and growing old together while raising kids and two cats and two dogs. He remembers the happiness radiating from Harry's face during all those moments. He remembered Harry's smile.

Louis had promised Anne and Jay that he would always protect Harry's smile. And no matter what...he was going to keep that promise.

Louis let out a shaky breath and opened his eyes again. His vision was cloudy due to the tears. "I will do it.." He mummered. "What?" Simon asked.
