Nancy trots up the stairs "MIKE!," she yells. Mike wakes up suddenly. "What do you want?" Nancy is at Mike's door. "Have you seen my flowers? You know, the yellow ones?" She asks
Mike had stolen them, for El.
"N-no, why?" He stutters. "They are gone, and they were supposed to be for Jonathan." The guilt drips down the back of his throat. "Well, I haven't seen them. Sorry." "Wait, are you coming to californa with me now?" Mike asks "No, I was going to ask you to give them to him for me." She explains.
Mike was mad that his sister had woken him up. "Ok so is there something else you wanted or...?" "Yes actually its 6:04." Nancy laughs. "Shit. Shit. Shit."
Mikes flight was supposed to be leaving at 7:00 and it takes an hour to drive to the airport. Nancy was supposed to be driving him there.
"Hurry because I also have somewhere to be aswell." Nancy trots back down the stairs. "Okay I'll be there in a sec."
Mike realises that he had forgotten a gift for Will. He then realises that he may have forgotten about Will in general. Like he had forgotten that he existed. He has been so fixed on El that he had forgotten about his best friend. "Oh well, its not like he ever tried to reach out." he tells himself.
Mike puts on some clothes, grabs his bag and rushes out to Nancy's car.

Will had sent Mike a letter the first day that he moved, it read,
Dear Mike, hope you are doing okay, I miss you alot already. California is pretty dull, El is feeling a bit anxious but other than that we are pretty good. Mom has applied for a few Jobs, and she is hoping to get a Job where she can work from home. And Jonathan hates our new house but he doesn't want to tell mom. And me, well im doing okay appart from the fact that I am 165 miles away from my best friend. Me and El are starting school tomorrow so that should be fun, hopefully I can come to Hawkins soon. Oh I almost forgot, I drew you this.

Unfortunately This letter had been lost through transit. But Will didn't know this, every day he would check his mail box to see if Mike had written back to him but he never did. He just assumed that mike didn't want to talk to him. He wasnt mad though.
At the airport, Will's face lit up as he saw Mikes face through the crowd of people. He was so happy his heart rate went up, his cheeks were turning red. He was so happy to finally see him.
Mike is holding Nancy's bouquet of flowers before goes in to hug El. "Careful you're squshing your present" he tells El. "Here, I hand picked them" he lies before he hands El the flowers. "Aw thank you I love them." El kisses Mike on the cheek.
His face turns to Will. "H-hey man." Will's smile widens. Mike goes in to hug Will but then decided to just pat him on the back. Ouch. Will's face quickly turns bitter. Mike quickly greets Jonathan & Argyle before going straight back to El.
It was Will's birthday, but he didnt like to make a big deal out of his birthdays. He assumed Mike knew it was his birthday, but I guess after a year, he forgot. El & Jonathan had already wished him a happy birthday and given him presents and he somehow thought that Mike would have a present for him, but instead, he had a present for El. Will wasnt mad, he was just a little surprised.

They had just finsihed watching El get absolutely humiliated by Angela and her friends, Mike runs over to go and help El but the crowd wont let him past, El runs away into a storage closet.
"Will what is your problem?" Mike shouts in his face. Will is confused, "What do you mean?" "Why the hell didnt you tell me about this, I thought Angela was her friend." Mike yells again. "I tried to tell you that she was having problems but you just ignored me." Will mumbles. "Bullshit, you havent said a word all afternoon!" Mike is agitated.
"Bullshit? You know whats Bullshit? The fact that you have been ignoring me ever since I left hawkins, its always about El isnt it? 'Oh el I love you so much I just want to talk to you for the rest of my life and completely ignore Will!'." he mocks him. "Thats because shes my girlfriend Will, im allowed to talk to my girlfriend. Besides Its not like you ever tried to reach out." Wills face turns sorrow as he realises...
"You never got my letter did you?" He sighed. "What letter?" Mike asks "It must have got lost in transit, im really sorry Mike." "lets just find El okay?" Mike felt sorry but he couldnt show it, he had learnt that repressing his emotions will keep him from getting hurt.
They both start looking for El before they realise another crowd has started to form. They are all surrounded El & Angela. Angela's face was bleeding and El was holding a bloody rollerskate. "Holy shit." Will says. El starts to cry. Mikes face turns timid, he was almost... scared of El. Will grabs El "its okay El lets just go home okay?" They call Jonathan and wait for him to arrive. After half an hour Jonathan and Argyle roll up to the rink snd everyone rushes into the car.
At the Byers After an akward family dinner with friends El rushes up stairs to her room. "This is some really good risotto Murray. Jonathan compliments him. "Thanks, its my secret recipe"
Will couldnt keep his eyes away from Mike. Will wanted Mike to look at him back but he was too busy thinking about El. "You know what im really full but thanks Murray, goodnight." Mike goes up the stairs and into El's room. Will was mad, why couldn't Mike talk to him? Why can't he see that he was still a person too.
In the morning There is a knock at the door. Jonathan goes to anwser it, "hi, it Jane home?" The officer asks. "Yea, why whats this about?" Jonathan asks "Is one of her parents of legal guardians home?" "No her moms on a business trip."
So many things were happening at once, but in the end, Jane gets arrested for assaulting Angela, as she is being cuffed she screams out Mike's name.
Mike runs downstairs to see whats going on. He realises what is happening, he asks whats going on but they wont stop saying their stupid police code. "You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one we will provide one for you." "HEY! What are you doing?" Mike asks the officer again. "She will be ok kid." That didnt make him feel any better. Mike runs out to the car to talk to El. "Hey! El? Its going to be okay? Okay? Just stay calm! Stay calm!!" He shouts at the car as it drives off.
"What just happened?" Will says as he is running down the stairs. "El just got arrested!" Mike says. "WHAT?" Jonathan?" Will calls out his older brothers name. "Hey, just relax, take a chill pill okay my little baby boo" he says while giggling. Jonathan was high, there was nothing Mike or Will could do so they just go back to Will's room, Mike is tired so he gets out his sleeping bag while Will gets out a matress for him to sleep on. "Okay goodnight." Will says to Mike. "Yeah." Mike replies.
