Everything was going perfect so she knew it had to end eventually. It had been a year on earth since dean disappeared and this was Doves last straw in hell.
'I did not spend the last twenty-five years of my life having every bone in my body broken time and time again by the impossibilities of a patriarchal society just to crush myself even smaller to cradle a man's ego like some kind of delicate breakable thing.'
Crowley took a step back. He hadn't meant to... the fury in her eyes was something else. It would have been extremely sexy had it not being pointed at him.
'STEFAN!" she screamed for him and he appeared at her side. 'GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HELL.' She told him and they disappeared, crowleys hand reaching out for where she was. He stood speechless. Frozen. The one thing he loved most in the world, gone. Vanished before his eyes...
'Dove?' Stefan questioned slowly once theyw ere on the surface. She turned to him and her eyes softened. 'what happened down there?'
'I thought Crowley a man instead of a beast. My mistake.' Her voice barely above a whisper.
'What if-' stefan kept talking but dove couldn't hear him, her eyes were playing tricks on her, they must be. She couldn't be seeing what she was seeing right now.
'Dean?' again a whisper. Stefan stopped talking and looked to the man she was focused on. "Dean.' She said louder. "DEAN!" she screamed her legs running after the man, Stefan followed behind her. "DEAN! DEAN! DEAN!' she screamed until the man spun around. Dean. Her dean. Tears filled her eyes as she clug to him like a lifeline. She clung to him unable to pull her fingers from him. He was here. He was right here. 'Dean?' she questioned finally pulling away just enough to see his handsome face.
'Hey princess. I missed you.' She pressed her face into him, crying, sobbing, her brother was here and real and alive. After all this time.
'where... have.. you... been?' she asked through sobs.
'Purgatory.' He said as if purgatory was real. Shit purgatory was real.
'purgatory?'
'yep, wheres sam? And whoes this guy?' dean pointed an accusatory finger at Stefan.
'sam is... this is Stefan. My friend.'
'Friend huh?'
'Yes friend.' Dove repeated.
'wheres sam?'
'i... I don't know.'
'what do you mean you don't know?' dean questioned pulling her back and looking her in the teary eyes. 'baby where is he?'
'hes alive from what I gathered but I haven't talked to him in months, hell I haven't talked to him since you died Dean.'
'What?' dean couldn't believe this, sam wouldn't abandon their sister, would he?
'where's castiel?' her eyes searching for him but not seeing his usual trench coat.
'um... hes gone.'
'gone? You were gone.'
'he... baby hes gone.' She nodded crying another tear for Cas. Her friend. Gone.... but she smiled through her tears seeing her brother.
'I missed you dean... I thought you were dead!' dove declared.
'can we go somewhere and talk without an audience?' dean questioned looking over her shoulder at Stefan watching them, he stood protectively behind her ready for a fight. Dean noticed his stance. 'shes my sister. I'm not gonna hurt her.' dean snapped.
'stefan I'm fine. Go home.' She told him and pushed dean in the opposite direction.
'he could be a monster-' stefan began and dove wanted to laugh, a demon calling a Winchester a monster. Rich.
'I know my brother. Go home Stefan. I will call you.' She told him, dean wrapped an arm around her shoulders. 'I know a place we can go.'
'so you really haven't talked to sam at all?'
'he kept up the promise you made... if one of us die the rest of us move on and have a normal life... hes wanted normal since we pulled him out of college... since Jessica, dean.'
'yeah I know... but you didn't give up on me?'
'how could i? I couldn't handle it Dean. Sam was playing house and you were nowhere. I talked to angels and demons and any creature that would listen. Hell, dean I prayed! To God. I got nothing.' Dove told him, running a hand over his, still having a hard time believing this was real.
'so what have you been up to besides looking for your clearly favorite brother?' dean asked a smirk on his face.
'I was...' playing house with the king of hell, training demons and having great sex every night after I gave up on finding you.... that had been over a year ago for Dove since she had given up but on the surface it was only a few months... 'I was hunting... lots of hunting.' Dove said which wasn't entirely a lie.
'hunting, that's my girl. Damn I missed you.'
'I missed you...'
'baby theres something I gotta do.'
'okay let me just-'
'baby I gotta do it alone. Something I promised a friend I made in purgatory.' Dean told her.
'you made a friend in purgatory? Of course you did, you are always so charming, even in near death situations.' Dove said smiling sweetly.
'I will be back soon. I gotta go to new Orleans. You try and track down sam while I'm gone yeah?'
'leave tomorrow. Stay tonight. its late.' Dove reasoned.
'good idea sweetie... you track down sam for me tomorrow?'
'of course. So what do you have to do for your friend?' dove wondered.
'give him a proper funeral...' dean lied. More like resurrection. He adjusted his sleeve. His friends soul was inside him, waiting to be released into his own body.
