secrets ━ final chapter

since you had found out who sunghoon really was, you hadn't seen him in two weeks, and didn't show up to work either. part of you was glad you hadn't seen sunghoon in a while, but another part of you absolutely hated being away from him, and you didn't know why. you felt as though you were just getting closer with him at the dinner, until you realized he was nothing like you imagined. although he didn't seem like the type to be a part of the mafia, he was. and you had to deal with it.
you decide to get up, change, and go out for a walk. there was no point to stay moping around and staying in the past, so you needed to stop hibernating and do yourself some good by getting out.

after you treated yourself to some Japchae and Mandu for lunch you headed back to your apartment. you swore you had locked the door when you left, but it was left slightly ajar. you walked in, the lights all off. as you go to turn on the lights, a cold hand slips around your waist and the other on your mouth. "MHHMMMN" you try and get out of the persons grip, but the force had the advantage over you. it picked you up and plopped you on the couch. you were shaking, scared out of your mind, until you heard its voice behind you, "Y/N, i had to talk to you one last time," you knew it was sunghoon. before you could scream, he started speaking, "before you freak out! i knew this was the only way i would be able to get to you, and i'm sorry."
even tho your head told you not to listen, you just stayed quiet, your heart willing to hear him out. "you have to understand my intentions. Y/N, love is something i have never felt before- that is until i met you. and i swear i will never go back to the mafia or my father, in fact today i resigned, although my father didn't take it well.." you could see his black eye and a couple cuts and bruises on his face, most likely from his horrid father.
"i swear, i am not that man anymore and have been trying to stop for years now. after meeting you, i realized you were why i wanted to stop even more. you were changing me just in the short time i met you. and you are the only thing on my mind." you looked at him. did you really mean that much to him? although he was once a bad person, he did seem to be different. he seemed sincere and trustworthy this time.
"and about jake...well, the first day you came into my office and spoke about him, i immediately got jealous. i know it was wrong, but i did some spying on him, and i realized he wasn't a boyfriend worthy of you. not only did i see the women he followed on social media, but out in public after we met, i saw him in a local bar downtown, kissing a woman who wasn't you..." your heart stopped. why did this not surprise you? was sunghoon only protecting you all along?
"and i just know that anyone stupid enough to cheat on a girl like you is not worthy of love, especially yours." this hurt you, but you knew he was right. "so after he left the bar, i confronted him, telling him to break things off with you. and i'm sorry if it was hurtful... and i know i may be asking a lot, and i understand if you say no, but would you give me a second chance? please? i now know i really can't screw this up. you give me meaning, Y/N." you sort of froze, but your heart almost knew that sunghoon was special, and somehow meant for you. you nodded.
his face immediately turned happy, but in a surprised way. a smile and big eyes now showing on his face. "wh-what? you mean it Y/N?" you nodded again and responded, "you know what? as much as i may have hated you for lying, i just can't say no. when we danced, or are together, you make me feel some sort of way, and i can't shake the fact that it wasn't just a coincidence we met. i think i may love you sunghoon..." you say, just admitting everything.
you too were also done hiding. hiding the way you felt. he just stood there, but he seemed so genuinely content. he walked back over to you, sitting next to you, and then pulling you onto his lap. as he layed back with you, he wrapped one arm around your back and the other one around your shoulder, his hand brushing your soft hair. this was a different side to sunghoon that you hadn't seen. you felt so safe and perfect in this period of time, making you forget all that had ever happened before this exact moment. while laying on his chest, you felt his beating heart and breaths in and out. he whispered in your ear, "i am so sorry, miss Y/N. for everything," and holding you tighter he ending the conversation with, "and i love you too." then, the two of you then fell asleep in eachothers arms.

2 years later...

sunghoon and you have been happily married for a year now. he finally cut off all ties with his father completely, and his father and his mafia were finally stopped. the two of you now moved from Seoul to Busan. he started his own technology business there, and it was growing at a steady pace. although busy, he always made sure to have plenty of time with you, making sure you were satisfied and happy in the relationship.
today was much like every other day. sunghoon was at work until the early evening, and you were out with your good friend yuna, getting some coffee. recently you started having growing pains and fatigue for unknown reasons. yuna and you were walking out of the shop when suddenly you gasped from a rush of pain. you grabbed your lower stomach as yuna grabbed your arm, and helped you to a nearby bench. "Y/N! are you okay??" she asked, a worried expression on her face. you replied saying, "i mean i think so...i've been feeling fatigue and soreness in my lower abdomen for sometime now and-" she interrupted, "i think you might be pregnant."
your eyes got big. "eh-what?" you ask, surprised at her remark. "no buts about it, we are getting you a pregnancy test asap. even if your not, we should at least see." you just agreed with her and headed to the drugstore, and then back to your home.

as soon as you got home, you took the test. after a few minutes, you see double lines. your heart beats almost out of your chest. you run out of the bathroom, happy tears streaming down your face as yuna embraces you and you show her the test. the both of you scream excitedly and jump up and down! you were having a baby, and with sunghoon. you and him had always wanted to be parents, and now you were finally given the chance.
"i am so happy for you two, Y/N!! ahhh can i be its unnie??" you chuckle, "of course yuna! oh my gosh!! do you think sunghoon will be excited?" "ahh of course he will! he loves you so much and will probably be through the roof with happiness!" you smiled and hugged her. after a few more minutes, she had to leave, and all you had to do now was wait until your husband came home.

the door unlocked as you sat on the couch. the same couch where you and sunghoon made amends back in Seoul and first confessed your love for eachother. you could hear his gentle footsteps and the dropping of his suitcase on the floor by the coat rack. you were never so happy to hear those now familiar sounds.
"hey beautiful, i'm home!" he says, instantly making your stomach turn into butterflies even one year into your marriage. "i'm in the living room, and i have something to tell you..." you say, trying to sounds mysterious. "oh?" he says while walking in to join you. he sits on the ground facing you, by your feet. "so what is it you wanted to tell me miss Y/N?" you giggled, "well, today i almost fell due to the pains i've been having," his expression turned to look worried as he grabbed your knees, looking up at you. "honey...oh dear, is everything okay?" "yes yes, and i now know why..." he still looked puzzled. he looked adorable when he was confused. "and it's because i'm pregnant..." you say.
after a second of processing the information, sunghoons eyes grew wide and he smiled the biggest you'd ever seen. "WHAT!!? AH Y/N!" he screamed and immediately jumped up, pulling you up from your position on the couch and picking you up bridal style, pecking every inch of your face. you broke out into laughter as he spun you around, still in his arms. "IM GOING TO BE A FATHER!?!" "YESSS!!" you say as he carries you to the table, and kisses you lovingly and gently. "so your happy i take it?" you say sarcastically.
"happy!?! i'm-i'm absolutely thrilled!! oh and i cannot wait to give him or her the life that i never had growing up, one full of love and peace, and i will make sure to prioritize both you and them! AH IM SO HAPPY!! and maybe we can have even more little me's!!" he says, still hyper and excited, "aww that's sweet, but slow your roll there mr. park!" you say, the both of you smiling and giggling as he leaned in to give you another kiss. it became more passionate, sunghoon soon signaling for you to jump as he carried you back into the two of yours' bedroom.

~ who would have ever thought that a guy with a dark secret, and an innocent girl like you, would ever find love under such different circumstances...? it's because it doesn't matter where you have been or came from, what matters is that love is the strongest thing on earth, and it can fix even those who seem the most un-fixable...~
