it was now the next morning. you could barely sleep after last night. sunghoon was on your mind. so was anxiety over the dinner you would also have to attend with sunghoon. you had slept in a little and awoken to a text on your cell phone. it was jake.
"hey Y/N. it's u-uh Jake." his voice sounded shaky over the phone. "i-i'm... breaking up with you." your heart immediately dropped. "what? what do you mean Jake? what is going on?" you say, panicked from this random situation. "i- i wish i could tell you more, but trust me, this has to happen..i mean, it's for the best. i'm so sorry, Y/N. please forgive me, one day i hope you can understand why.." and before you could let out another syllable, the call ended. you had just awoke to get horrible news, wondering what could've gone wrong.
"wait-did it get back to Jake that i found Sunghoon attractive!? but how would it? there is no way...UGH what even!" you thought to yourself, trying to piece everything together. now that the shock was fading and the realization of what just happened kicked in, you began to cry a little, a tear running down your cheek. you new that Jake and you were probably not endgame, but you didn't think it would be so soon, and definitely not this abruptly.
he had always been good to you. what was going on? something felt off. it felt like there was truly something wrong. Jake wasn't one to just run off because of something...

you decided you were to tired and miserable to go to work today. you stayed in your apartment, alone and tried to sleep, pushing away the hurt you were feeling.

it was now about noon and you woke back up. you got up, still in your silver pajamas, and headed to you desk, opening up your laptop. you had one new email. it was from an unknown email, but you checked it anyways.

FROM: unknown
|11:45am|
< Hello, Y/N.
I am sorry to hear that you aren't coming to the office today, but I am still planning for you to attend the dinner. Let me know if that is still okay with you,
- Park Sunghoon >

"how did he get my email- oh never mind that," you think to yourself. "and crap! i almost forgot about the dinner tonight...and i won't feel as bad now that Jake is no longer mine. what the heck! i'll still go, as awkward as it may be. i wonder how he new i wasn't gonna come today...huh maybe he just figured since i hadn't showed up yet." you brushed it off and responded to him.

FROM: Y/N
|12:07pm|
< Hello Mr. Park.
Yes, it has been a hard day for me, but I will still come with you for the work dinner tonight. Thanks,
- Lee Y/N >

when finished sending the email, and finishing up a couple of things, you plop down on your large brown sofa, and promptly turn on the television. the first channel it had on was the news, in which you listened to, unaware of what was being broadcast...

≋BREAKING NEWS!!

"CEO's all over Seoul have been discovered dead!
Head of Cube electronics was recently found dead in his back yard, with knife wounds to his chest, head, and arms. His wife, Sumi explains that when she got home, and found him lying in a pool of his own blood, she immediately alerted the authorities.
The CEO of Pledis enterprises was also recently found dead, lying in his bed. it looked as though he had blunt force head trauma, before being shot. The same goes for head of JYP corporation, stabbed and shot to death.
These are only but a few of the deaths of CEO's in Seoul. The authorities are treating these cases as murders, and are trying their best to stop this. Please go back to your normal lives, and if you are a CEO or head of a company, please stay safe.
Here are the names of the others, whoms lives were taken to soon." ≋

you stared blankly at the screen, as a list of over 50 names rolled through the news broadcast. you nervously watched, making sure Sunghoon wasn't on it, and luckily, he wasn't a victim to the mass murders. "what the heck is going on? this day couldn't get any worse i swear...thank God no one at Hybe was on, whoever physcos this is, hit list." as you turn the TV off, it hits you. these men where all on the sheets you were assigned to yesterday. every one of them. and now they were all dead.
you couldn't help but feel guilty, even tho you new you didn't even know what was going on. this was unlike any coincidence you had lived through. you begin to feel nauseous and just decide to go to bed, setting an alarm to wake you up before you had dinner with Sunghoon, under the bizarre and uncanny circumstances. hopefully, sleep would take you away from this already horrid day.

the time was now 7:00pm, your alarm waking you up so you would have time to get ready before Sunghoon picked you up at 8. you got off of the comfy couch, and waltzed into your room, opening your closet door. you decided to wear the dark red dress your mom had given you last year. you hadn't worn it yet because there was nothing to wear it for, up until now. it was perfect too, for the weather and occasion. you paired it with a long black handbag, and then headed into the bathroom.
you decided to put your hair in a low and tight ponytail. you left your curtain bangs out and made sure to curl them just right.
you weren't sure why you were trying so hard to look good, but something in you wanted to look your best for work- and sunghoon.
while finishing up with your makeup, you still had 15 minutes to spare, but didn't want to look at the news or turn on the tv, especially after the traumatic episode you witnessed earlier. you just scrolled on your phone, texting some friends. you soon get up and looked out the window to see a jet black sports car pulled outside your apartment building, waiting. assuming it was Sunghoon, you grabbed what you needed, and headed out.

the drivers window rolled down slowly as you neared the car, and just like you thought, Sunghoon appeared, a smirk across is lips, looking you up and down. you started to feel hot and nervous all of a sudden. he stepped out of the car while you stood on the curb, shutting his door behind him. his tall figure practically towering over you, was walking to you.
he wore a grey suite with a red tie, matching you perfectly. his hair slicked back on the sides, with some whispy tufts in the front. "wow." he said, staring at you. you blushed a little. "you look absolutely stunning, Y/N." he sounded sincere, not sly. you thanked him politely. "i may just have to get you out of work and with me more often if it means i can see you like this...even tho i'm sure your just as beautiful with out being all dressed up."
you tried your very best to not melt to his kind and flattering words, but you had a feeling that by the end of the night, he would have you wrapped around his finger. "thank you Mr. Park. your very kind. and you don't look to bad yourself." you say. he never broke eye contact once, which made you feel anxious, but also important. "are you ready miss Y/N?" he said, saying miss like he always did, making you heart race. you nodded as he opened the passenger door to the car for you, and helped you sit down.

the two of you were soon off, driving down the highway. during the ride, a ringing noise sounded throughout the car. someone was calling him, and he pressed a button, allowing the phone to connect, answering the call with bluetooth. "yes?" Sunghoon asked, and a husky voice on the other end of the line began speaking, "i've taken care of the rest of 'em boss, what do i do next?" Sunghoon quickly looked at me and then back at the road, almost nervously.
what was the caller talking about? he stayed cool, but you saw guilt of some sort in his eyes. he was hiding something. "i am not sure who this is, or what you are talking about, but enjoy the rest of your evening sir." Sunghoon said cooly. "what? but Mr. Park isn't this-" before the man on the other line could finish, Sunghoon had hung up. he saw the worried and confused look on your face. "i apologize miss Y/N. that was an odd call and i'm not sure who that was. there is nothing to worry about...and we should be to the restaurant in 15 minutes or so. it's my favorite one in Seoul, actually. and we get a private room on the top floor. it's just lovely," he continued on, changing the subject, but you couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
'i've taken care of them boss'... and the man sounded like he knew Sunghoon. maybe it was just an employee at work, but there was still something that wasn't adding up, especially with everything going on. Jake and the abrupt breakup, the murders, and now this? you were praying that tonights dinner party would finally bring something good to this terrible and uncanny day...
