Cinder's POV

Kai? I thought, this is Prince Kai? He released my hand after shaking it and turned toward his own locker. My hand still tingled from the moment of contact I had with him. It felt like tiny shocks of electricity, I'm suddenly glad that my prosthetic hand was the left one, or else Kai would have known after he shook hands with me.

"So, what grade are you in Cinder?" he asked casually.

"Eleventh" I replied calmly trying not to show how shocked I was.

"Ah, cool" he said as his locker swung open. "Eleventh grade is a blast, there are so many more opportunities that pop up."

"I'm sure that seniors get the most opportunities" I say, as I put my last few books into my locker. I wasn't trying to be rude, I just wanted to speak my mind, and be myself. The last thing I wanted to do was to pretend to be someone that I wasn't.

Kai turned to look at me, "Then I guess it looks like you have one more year until the real fun begins." he said with a smile playing on his lips.

"I'm looking forward to it." I replied. And I really was. Once I'm a senior, I'll only have one year left with my step-mother, Adri, and the sooner I get away from her, the better. I shoved my last book into my locker and then took out a journal, pencil, and some wire and screws and other supplies that I kept in a small pencil bag, which was what I thought were necessary for drama. I knew that I was probably going to stink at that class, but I can't sing or play an instrument so orchestra, band and choir were crossed off my list, which only left drama. "I'm going to head to class, I guess I'll see you later." I said to Kai.

He nodded, and I walked towards class. When I walked into the drama classroom there were a few people in there, none of them I was particularly familiar with. The drama classroom was set up differently than regular classroom. Instead of desks there were just chairs making a big 'o' shape. And there were posters on the walls for tons of different movies. The only thing that made it seem like a class room was the small desk shoved in the corner, with a swivel chair behind it. There was a little plaque on the desk that read out 'Mr. Greenlee'.

I sat down at one of the seats that were farther away from the other people in the room and started tinkering around with the wires and screws I had. Whenever I do this, I have no idea what it's going to turn out to be. I just keep moving my hands around and a new creation comes out.

After a few minutes, all the seats were completely full. I didn't bother to look for friendly familiar faces, though, because I knew there wouldn't be any. Especially in a class where seniors take up half of the seats. Mr. Greenlee called role after everyone settled down. He looked rather old with his gray and balding hair. He had a lot of wrinkles on his face to, but then you notice how his eyes sparkle with friendliness, kindness, and youth, so you immediately start to like him. Plus when he talked or moved around the class he seemed to have so much energy and life in him.

The first day of my junior year officially start after the bell rings and Mr. Greenlee starts calling roll.

"...Samantha"

"Here"

"John"

"Here"

"Leo"

"Here"

"Kristina"

"Here"

"Kaito" I freeze, then slowly look around the classroom.

"Here, I actually prefer to be called Kai" said a now familiar voice. I turn my head in the direction of the sound, and sure enough, there he is. He was sitting about 4 seats away of me to the right.
